  • Hi Nyk media and everyone.

I know it's a bit last minute, but can I join, pretty please?

I've been umming and aarhing too - I don't have the greatest track record with challenges, but I really, really would like to complete just one this year :) . Oh, and it would mean a much happier start to the new year!

    Hey Nykmedia,

... And I am even more last minute than Pollydaydream! Can I join too please?

I have been a bit undecided about joining as I have a lot going on right now but I'm hoping this could be somewhere to record my progress etc & keep my sanity! I desperately want my debts gone... once they are I will be free to make some savings towards running my own business & buying a house! But right now I'm just stuck working in an office pushing papers and being bored - and over-run by emails!

My OH has resigned from his job as he was miserable there (and I agreed with him it was the best thing to do) but we are both worried about cash right now - it was his last day on Friday and he doesn't have a job to go to yet. We are hoping he can get some short-term contract work as that's usually really well paid. So it's even more important for me to focus on saving/making money right now!

Anyway I could use some support/motivation/nagging to keep on track. My OH is lovely but doesn't really understand why I worry so much. Hoping that being out of work and having to worry about bills etc will be a wake up call for him! Maybe he will have his own LBM! Hey a girl can dream :)

I know I'll be tempted to use the money I have saved (which he doesn't know about btw) to "bail him out" for bills if he can't get work in a few weeks - or take out a CC to cover in the short term (I have good credit, his has been recovering for 2 yrs and is probably about average now - at a guess). But he already owes me quite a sizeable amount of £ so I don't want to! Plus it will only put more strain on our relationship if I do...

OK so a quick question - can we count paid OT at work? Also I had a review at work recently and will be getting a lump sum of backdated pay increase - but no idea when this will be! Does this count? I'm guessing not...

Also is anyone doing MB and fancy buddying up? I'm pretty sure I understand the basic principles and I've done a few worked examples and the maths seems to pan out ... just need my hand held to actually take the plunge lol!! :)

Right - off to bed - good luck everyone! :)

  • Well its start day here already for me, and I am up $4 so far lol, :j , probably won't do much better till tomorrow when I am waiting on something I am sure will sell for around $90 in last minute bidding frenzy.

Thinking because of time differences I will be the first to start and first to finish  and people are SO going to wonder what happened to me on New Years Eve, because I will either be half sloshed and celebrating or still be frantically photographing things to put online lol

Good luck for you guys in the start too, :p

  • Today is the day, on your marks get set GO
I'm up early and have scheduled 2 hours of Ebaying into my day I'm in the fortunate/unfortunate position of having a house full of things to ebay due to years of bootsaling and overbuying. I reckon I could list 5 items a day until Xmas and by that time I should be able to see my spare room floor !!!!
Hope everyone else is feeling fresh and ready for a challenge
    Good Luck
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:
