    Morning..
Well the mystery of the expenses is solved and, no, I haven't received an extra huge amount that I wasn't expecting! Oh well!
But I do have some expenses to add so I have updated my signature.
I've got my Tesco shop coming tonight so whatever the difference between my budget and actual spend, I'll put in my savings pot. I'll have to update that tomorrow.
Today...I've got an invoice to send out and I've got some Avon books to put out too. I think I'm going to have to look at getting a job.
My £1000 from this challenge is paying off a credit card so I can start this month with a clean slate. I was hoping, though, that the 'extra' expenses(the ones that didn't happen!) would pay off the card and then the £1000 from this challenge could start building up my emergency fund.
I'm aware, in this current climate, how vunerable we are with no back up savings...but its not meant to be....

    Morning all!

I just thought I would update on the results from my first matched bet! I have invested £105 in total, have £35 tracking in Quidco, £10 of free bets with another £25 to come, and a balance of £100. So basically, after an afternoon of stress getting started, I have made £35 with more to follow! Yay!

Becca2008 - I see why you are going for the Music magpie thing. It seems to be way less hassle than ebaying old CDs. I never seem to get much money on ebay, so I don't reckon I will really lose by using Music Magpie.

    Hi everyone

Milly - I have just received a cheque from musicmagpie, will bank it at lunchtime. They are quite slow at paying, but I imagine they have to go through every CD they are sent to check them. There haven't been any problems dealing with them at all. They have a sister site called gamemagpie, I have sold some games to them and am waiting for payment.

I received a payment form Amazon today £38.42, this brings my total to £179.93.

Also, am doing this BBC testing thing later this month, and will get £50 for that so :j :j :j

Still need to put stuff on eBay properly - I have cleared my schedule for tomorrow evening lol and will get my butt into gear!!

yeah i have registared with another free scratchcard site so that will up my money a bit by new years

You said the 'F' word... what are we missing? Is it really free? Can we join too? Pleeeeeeeeeease? :D

Just checked topcashback as they update payments for 1st of each month and I have another £7 odds payable, so I'll claim that - better my bank than theirs, I say. :j Haven't checked anything else yet but did read on the Ciao site that their payments don't go out until mid-month, so a couple of weeks to wait for that to arrive. I've now had 5 gumtree ads tracked and not sold anything there yet, so it's time to add something else I think.

Please post details about free scratchcards as I'm keen to find out what that's about. :)

:D My sister just confirmed she has put £250 into my account towards repayment of her loan! Finally, some real numbers to put into my sig :D
(I was secretly debating whether or not to add this because it seems to easy, but I may never reach £1000 otherwise - feels a bit like cheating though!)

OK, here is why there is good reason for small savers to worry about our banking systems, check this out! I just copied from my online statement (I have an account for bill paying & DDs, so there's not usually much in it)

    30 Sep 2008
    Interest Debited 0.02
    Interest Credited 0.04

This is ridiculous! They took 50% of my entire monthly interest payment!! What happened to income tax being 20%?! Does that make me look like a higher rate tax payer? :rotfl: WOW! I wonder if they'd accept this as proof of earnings if I applied for a loan of, say, 100k! No, don't be silly, only someone like Northern Rock would have done that and, then, only if I was wanting the 100k to buy a 75k house! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Edited in - I am back AGAIN after checking another account - I run all my self-generated income through a business account, again NOT using this for keeping cash in other than bill paying etc and look at the difference!

    TAX DEDUCTED 30-09-2008 DBT -£0.06
GROSS CREDIT INTEREST TO 30SEP 30-09-2008 INT £0.34

I keep even less in the business account than in the personal account, how can this be?

If I was counting interest, I'd have made another 30p today between both accounts :rotfl:

2nd edited in - Oh poop! Just got my eBid invoice for fees for all my sales over the past month

    INVOICE FOR 1 September - 30 September 2008
TOTAL AMOUNT NOW DUE: £ 0.14

Now you see why I prefer eBid to eBay! I can afford to pay me fees off my bank interest :D

Mogwai, please pardon my ignorance and don't think this offensive in any way, but I really don't know what Eid means. Until I saw it on the front page of MSE, I had misread your post as eBid! :o I am ashamed to say that I thought it was a typo and your aunt had gifted you a contribution towards paying for a lifetime membership to open an online store. :o I'll go Google it right now... hangs head in shame and scuttles off to do some research

Edited in - back again, I learned something new today :j
EID is an abbreviation, and it symbolises the end of Ramadan. I like learning new things as online researching is (mostly) FREE and can be a great deal of fun :)

above is a link to more info about scratchcards. basically you sign up (im using little woods just now) deposit £10 go to the daily free scratch card, play it, then withdraw the £10 you put in then each day do the scratch card you usually get 10p but can get £1 some days for just signing in and theres the possibility of winning £100. when you reach £10.10 withdraw £10. ta daa free money for very little effort.

    i hope that makes sense.
