that must be a real pain when your just nipping down to the shops!

This happened to my wife 15 years ago with th AA she broke down at the end of a motorway on the roundabout.
They said they couldn't find her even though the police called it in 3 times and in the end a recovery van from some other garage that was taking a car to some where picked her up on his return jouney.
The next day i went to the HQ in cheadle and gave them hell and got the recovery cost refunded.
We have never been with them since! used Mayday and the RAC.Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
Thanks for the help...
We've been with the AA for about 6 years and they've been great in the past when we've called them out.
I suppose I was just unlucky.
I'll be writing to them today - I'll let you know if they get back to me!0 -
I found it more sensible to not use the AA becasue they have their own patrols.
If you use the likes of Green Flag, Britannia etc, they phone the nearest locally contracted garage who come and sort you out, rather than having to wait for one of the AA patrols to be free from other calls to do it for you.
That's likely to be much quicker.0 -
I gave up on AA after an 8 hour wait, in freezing weather. Won't touch them again. RAC and Green Flag have been reasonably good, though have had the occasional mishap. Complain, and complain again, and give them advance notice of quitting, see what they will offer. Quit if it doesn't seem appropriate for their shortcomings.0

OP id leave them and get cover from someone else, have a read of this it might be of interest, someone else pointed me in the direction of it a few days ago,

From that link it shows autonational rescue is second. I'm with Autoaid. This is the same company but you have to pay the recovery firm for their services direct then claim it back. I'm lucky enough to have £1000 available on a cash back card so I would be paid to use it.
For me it was the fact that my full policy only cost £36 for the year.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
I can beat all the gripes so far. My son & Daughter in law and my 3 grandchildren (all under 5 and one 8 months) made a call to the AA at 1935 it is currently 0138 and they are still stranded! So much for the 4th emergency service!0
