Terminating Pay Monthly Contract

Hi

Just wondering if any has experience/advice for breaking a mobile phone contract. I am very dissatisfied with delays in repairs to my phone and wish to switch networks. Unfortunately I have recently entered an 18 month contract so paying off the contract even with the cheapest tariff is still fairly expensive. Are there any other options such as blocking the direct debit with my bank?

No way round this unless you can show the network has breached the contract. Problems with your handset are separate from your service contract.

You can stop your direct debit, but they will continue to bill you (usually charging an admin fee for not using direct debit), and will chase you all the way if you don't pay your bills.
