Friday 19/09/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j

Today I will:
  • Check online banking
  • move some money to savings
  • see if any clicks -piggy been rubbish lately:rolleyes:

  • Good Morning One and All,

Well I've cancelled my hair appointment - a saving of £80.00 but I will still need to get a trim at my old hairdressers which is £20 for a wet cut - god only knows what I am going to do about the highlights/colour - I only decided to have them put in 3 months ago - didn't realise how much time/care/maintainance etc they would take not to mention the cost - stupid really I had nice blonde hair to start with but I fancied it lighter but I felt like a tiger when I put my hair in a pony tail - not a great look ............ if only I could turn back time!!!!!

I have to pay out £3.50 for hospital car park (for the 3rd time this week) to find out exactly what gestational diabetes means to me and what i can and can't eat ........ only 26 days until baby arrives .........

I can't think of anyway of saving money today but at least I am not going to be spending too much so thats kinda positive - am going to clean house from top to bottom and take my son to the park with a 'pic-nic' - I do feel a fool sometimes - apparantly its not a proper pic-nic if we don't sit on the rug .....

Oh I've just remembered when son has his afternoon nap I am going to put loads of my maternity clothes on ebay and anything else that isn't nailed down!

I'm going to also go on freebies board and see whats going - my husband bless him is great when it comes to me e-mailing him coupons to print off and poor love minces into Debenhams/Alders etc and he always comes away with the bounty - I'm sure they pity him - but mascaras make great stocking fillers!

    Have a great day

  • morning everyone :D
Am in a GRRRRRRRRRRRRR mood because of HSBC!! Trying to leave them but they won't let me switch my HSBC loan direct debit to another bank... even if it clears the loan on the same day! might go over to the loans board later... and call the ombudsman, feeling feisty!

    So today I have
    • brought in lunch
    • brought in home baked organic banana bread for my colleagues, using up 2 manky bananas and it tastes so good!
    • checked my banking and sent HSBC a calm but angry email
    and I will
    • have a nice dinner from veg box that's coming today
    • not spend anything!
Cheers and wish me luck with hsbc (if anyone can think of any rude acronyms for them I'm in the mood :D )
  • goooooooooooood Morning everyone:D

    today I will do

    - daily clicks
    - competitions
    - erm anything else i can think of

    good luck:D
