hope that helps
Power factor is taken into account in domestic metering. And Power Factor does very much exist. Don't wriggle by changing the subject to Power Factor correction. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union

You initially said something different.

" Power Factor Correction is not a concept that is used in measuring or metering electricity consumption "

No - you initially wrote in Post #3There is no such thing as power factor in electricity metering domestic or industrial
Still not of a mind to correct what you wrote in the thread you started? As for 'egos' perhaps you might care to review your input in that thread.0 -

As is your lack of basic electrical knowledge!
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Does this 'Savaplug' fall into the same category, or is it a genuine energy saving device?

Falls into the same category.
At least at the bottom of the advert they list a huge range of fridges that it must not be used on.
As I said above it apparently can cause problems if connected to many fridges, and I suspect it will invalidate the warranty.
I doubt there is any fridge available that it will work on - and even on ancient fridges the savings are minimal.
Before you 'invest' in such a device check with your manufacturer.0 -

There seems to be a real pack mentality developing on this forum of late. It's not pleasant to witness, tbh. Calm down, guys, it's not like power factor reducers are as important as life and death, is it?Call me Carmine....
