I tried 2 times in getting them to understand that above. 2 times got nowhere.
so if my ACL is £1072 i worked it out that i can without going over my Balance transfer limit transfer £1018 is that right as i got fobbed off about your not allowed to go over BT limit they are getting coinfused between (credit limit )and {available credit}. whats the penalty if you go over BT limit do they remove your 0% offer !!!

would you like to go into the lions' cage when they've not been fed for a month?

    they'll rip you arms off!

go over your credit limit and an alarm will go off, a hooter will sound and you'll lose your offer....and someone, somewhere will be one closer to their daily target.

  • Yes, do be careful with making 2nd transfers on Virgin. They will eat you alive if you don't get it right.

We made a second transfer with the remaining credit. Of course it was within the credit limit, of course it was on DD. A few days later we were hit with an interest payment by DD and it pushed us into being overdrawn by a few pounds. Stupid of us to assume that the DD would adjust accordingly and take into account that the payments would need to stay within the credit limit.
The first operator spoken to even thought it was off. They won't budge.

You can guess what happened next, interest rate pushed up to 2.8% per month without prior warning nor letter. On Thursday we received a letter informing us that the interest rate would be increasing to 34% per annum.
Currently looking to transfer again. Tiresome. And with fees, an expensive shambles.

2.8% per month is around 39% APR. Are you sure they haven't now lowered it for you?
  • Apologies, that was a typo, I meant to type 2.20%.

ooops...next time I'll think about the answer rather than how to say something dramatic! do you really need that little extra BT limit though - enough to be worth the aggro....

  • Well good for you for checking here before you make your BT. I wish I had.

Personally, my experience has completely put me off any Virgin related product for good. Their operators can't properly explain if it's ok to transfer or not. I want to get rid of this debt a.s.a.p and pay it off for good.

I see what you mean....I go very cautiously near the limits as it only takes one misunderstanding to mess it up...and there's plenty of chance for that!
