Pipex changes

Received a letter from PIPEX, saying that things are changing and after the changes my service will be provided by PIPEX Ltd a subsidiary of Tiscali.
Fair enough.
However it also states that if I am using the service after the changes, it will indicate my acceptance of the new terms and conditions.
Now this implies to me that my contract is being temporarily terminated. Funnily enough, they wont tell me if this is the case.
Does anyone know, if this would be a legal opportunity to switch supplier?
Many thanks.

I know someone who was in a similar situation and they told them that they did not want to continue with the service and they used this as an escape route. I would advise that you grasp the opportunity ASAP! O2 BB is excellent if available to you. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Mrs Mac and the minor Macs want BT. And I want unlimited, limits is my only gripe with PIPEX.0

This was on my mind as well. Although I've been with Pipex for 6 years and therefore my tie-in contract expired 5 years ago. From reading peoples experiences, I don't trust this bunch. They already tried to set up a direct debit without my consent. The thing is what date exactly does the new contract start? On my letter it states the completion date of the changes to be 30 November 2008, is it after that date that continuation of use means assenting to the new contract I wonder?0

I upped my service to 8mb in March, from an old low speed contract, so tied in for another year.
They told me I only used about 6/7gb, so would be well within the 10gb limit. It's be blown by at least 3gb every month since. Without a change in my usage.
Sent them an email yesterday, just got back the "we can't deal with you, due to Data Protection". Which is their response to any form of contact other than by phone, which of course is 10p a minute. Looks like I'll have to do that!!0 -
I'm considering switching too but we can only get O2 access in our area which isn't exactly the same as it's not O2's lines but BT's. This means we can only get the standard home option and it's a little dearer. I wonder if the feedback is good for the access packages too?
To be fair, I've not had problems with Pipex service itself, we've been unlimited since day one and refused offers to go onto a cheaper package as I wanted to remain unlimited and the new packages aren't.
My only quibble is the foreign customer service which I've had to call to change my payment card. Scottish accent and an Indian (I think) ear isn't a good mix. End result is that apparently the Royal Bank of Scotland now have a new branch in the Highlands......at MY HOME ADDRESS. Nice lady, but she just didn't grasp what she was being told and listed all the details incorrectly.
O2 customer service is UK based which is a plus for me.Herman - MP for all!

Well, I've written to them, recorded delivery, as I don't trust the customer service.0
