Hello Everyone,
I've been a 'lurker' on here since just before the double till spit fiasco this summer and have to say a big thank you to everyone on here for all the beautiful and very cheap products that now fill my bottom drawer!
I'm 8 months pregnant and have just gone on maternity leave so these products now fill the space where all my lovely clothes used to be! (These by the way have been sent to the attic until I can actually see my feet again!)
I just wanted to post about a fab purchase I made today. I spotted some Roc retinox day and night gift packs reduced to £5. Beneath them were some still at the original price of £34.99! This was because the box had a 'best before' date on the bottom of 10/08. I bought 3 packs anyway and the 3 for 2 kicked in so got all that for £10. Anyway, opened the boxes when I got home and they contain a boxed 30ml day cream (£24.99 on .com) and a boxed 30ml night cream (also £24.99 on .com). Anyway, my point is that the individual items contain different dates to the gift box! One pack had items dated till 11/08 which I'll keep for myself and the other boxes had items dated 01/09 and 03/09! That's 2 birthday presents for girlfriends sorted and they'll think I've spent a fortune!!!
So, if you see these boxes reduced, bear in mind the items inside may have a longer shelf life than the outer box suggests!Make £2012 in 2012 member #88

Someone who receives goods in these circumstances may retain them as an unconditional gift, and does not have to pay for or return any unwanted goods. Anyone who receives a demand for payment for unsolicited goods should report the matter to their local Trading Standards Department.

Quick question
I placed my first boots order a couple of days ago, had 2 of those bottle pumps for £2 in there that you got 750 points back on. My order has now been dispatched without them - but the total of points i'm getting at the bottom of my order form still states the original amount. Will the 750 be taken away or will they be nice and leave them on?!
Thanks0 -
Hmmmm, interesting. I placed an order yesterday and have just had an email to say it's been partially dispatched. All of the washing bits- (3 x washing up liquid, 3 x clothes washing liquid) are out of stock and will not be sent
They have been deducted from my total, but have brought my order down to under £40 now. Luckily I have not been charged for delivery, but have lost the 500 bonus points for spending over £40
It's just annoying as they are heavy to carry and I walk to and from Boots *ahem* I mean workfor about an hour each way, so would have been really handy to have got them delivered to my doorstep. Ho hum, can't win them all.
Bit odd really, as it is saying I get normal points plus 166 bonus pointsonly bought small P&P (couldn't get hold of sister who had asked for P&P so decided to order the small ones as didn't want to end up with credit card bill for £99 if she'd changed her mind. Sister finally returned my call just as glitch had been busted saying she defo wanted the big size  ), 3 x mini jemma kidd eye shadow applicator brushes, the laundry stuff, plus tissues and toothpaste- definitely no bonus point items
But anyway, they have deducted my bonus points- how did you manage to keep yours? If they are on the dispatch email then I guess you will get to keep them
:T

Boots at the Oracle in Reading now has self-serve tills!!!
I just saw them today and gave them a spin. They are located next to the main bank of tills and there were three employees hovering (I'm pretty sure that will drop to one once the bugs etc are worked out). I got a clearance item and the till asked me to call for help. They have to be entered manually by an employee. I also got 3 of the top to toe body washes for 1p and was a bit mortified as the till loudly proclaimed "1 penny, 1 penny, 1 penny"! I know they are on clearance, but the sel said 99p and I know some folks have been denied them by SAs.
Anyhow, it was interesting, but I don't think these would be grand for glitches in their location and with an employee lurking. The darn thing also decided I had placed something in a bag when I hadn't and wouldn't go forward until it was removed. And how do you remove something that's not there? And I didn't have any coupons to try, either.0 -
