Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Disc 2 won't work

Has anyone else bought this yet? I bought it for my children yesterday and even though disc 1 with the actual film on it works perfectly, disc 2 doesn't. I took it back to WHSmiths this morning and they swapped it for another one. I tried that when I got home and that doesn't work either. I have 2 DVD players in the house (one only a month old) and also a DVD player on my comp and it doesn't work on any one.

Both discs 2 I have had have had foreign writing on but all my players are multi region so that shouldnt be an issue. Disc 1 has English writing on.

Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me and does anyone know what I can do about it?

Thankyou for that advice. I learnt so much from it.

I'm not going to ask for a refund due to the fact that my daughters both like Disc 1 and have been excited about it being released on DVD for ages. I may write to the company and complain. I can't be the only one it won't work for.

Each disc should have a bbfc logo on it (the 12,15 18 age thingy) if it hasn't got one it is being sold illegally, if it has got one it should be a region 2 disc.

It wasn't sold illegally. It was from WHSmiths not a pirate. They are both Region 2 discs.

Both discs should have a bbfc logo on if either one of them doesn't or the box in which they came doesn't, *then* they have been sold illegally.

You mentioned the foriegn writing, so I brought up a logical subject for enquiry...do they both have the bbfc logo on?

Unfortunately, on this occasion it is no help at all, as the users there are all commenting without having seen the UK dvd!
