There is an up-side to QVC (for me anyway!) when it comes to using/trying products and taking them to their word on their 30 day no quibble money back guarantee though. I've bought several items I've been sceptical about (steam cleaner, inch loss body wrap system and a cosmetic that was supposed to reduce pigmentation (costing £50!)). None of these items provided the fabulous results that you were supposed to get, so after using them for 30 days I just packaged them up (empty bottles and all!) and returned them (return postage is always cheaper as you just use 2nd class with proof of postage), so I've only paid £5 or £6 to trial things rather than spending the full amount on them and having them laughing at me every time I open the cupboard!

I don't know if they ever have a point where they refuse to refund (i.e. if you contiunally do it without ever actually buying something) but I'm sure I'll find out one day.

There are also some things which are great value (Molton Brown, MOP) when you compare their special sets to the normal shop prices.

It's like anything, shop around, and work out whether it is to your advantage!
  • I used to take QVC at its word "If you dont like it just send it back for a full refund" and would send back about 50% of what I ordered. This would be because I would try out a new brand of clothes etc and wouldnt know the cut of the make and it might take me a few attempts to get it right (I am a large size 24 and the local shops are very sparse on clothes). I also love Butler and Wilson costume jewellery and coulnt make up my mind until I saw the pieces which ones to get os would order 3 - 4 and then send back 1 -2.

Anyway one day I got a letter saying ring them and this little moron in the Finance Dept had a go at me for sending things back! I pointed out to him I could go to trading standards if he likes as they are breaking their on show promise but he basically told me I was losing them money! Hard luck I said.

I now only buy Butler and Wilson and only because the train fare costs more than their postage - otherwise I am not interested in them......so that was a great money saving event!

I got my moneys worth on p&p too, when i ordered some toner, used about half of it and sent it back. Someone told me i should have topped it up with water, but i thought that would be too cheeky!
I do think their p&p cost is rather steep.
QVC are a multi million pound company, so i think they can afford the returns anyway!

Butler and Wilson have a website and you can order from them there though too, just google it and it will come up if you ever want to try them direct. Not sure how they are about returns though if you don't like them once you have them but you could ask

I had trouble with a faulty item aswell a cleanser, I just thought oh should be no problem they always say no questions asked just return it but it was a right dragged out performance with phone calls from them and questions, I couldn't believe what was happening. Anyone would think the thing cost a fortune but it was only a cleanse and polish that the top was broken off completely on delivery. I had never sent a half used item back at all so it was my first time, they still wanted it back though

Another thing, the delivery time is appalling in my experience with items that they have in stock already. They always took 10 days at the earliest and very often more. Once I asked for the premium service as I was going on holiday and it was dreadfull, that wasnt going to arrive for 6 days and was going to cost about £9 just for delivering 1 bottle of eyemakeup remover. I don't understand why they cant deliver next day when loads of other companies can. On the tv though they constanly brag about delivery times its crazy that they charge so much yet offer lower quality delivery service than most other companies
    Thanx

I have had good experience with QVC.
My husband bought me one of those pearl necklaces (where you get to open the shell). I caught the catch on the pendant one day and lost the pearl.

I think it was beyond the 30 day period and not their fault but they still sent me a new one.

In my opinion they should keep their promises but I understand them not wanted people to "take the mick" (not suggesting anyone here is doing that).
