QVC Delivery charges

QVC are ok, not as cheap as they make out they are but still I can't say I don't like them. I have used them in the past and sometimes do now but only if I cannot get it from anywhere else or its a very special offer.

The reason I do avoid them if at all possible is out of principle. I think thier delivery charges are a really BIG rip off. You pay for each individual item no matter how much you spend. Only if you buy 2 of an item do they reduce the second items delivery charge by half only (big deal). I think its an insult as lots of housebound people or elderly people shop a lot on there and spend a lot of money and I think they take advantage of that and charge far too much for delivery.

I don't know of anywhere else that charges for each individual item for delivery, I don't understand why they think theres nothing wrong with it. They talk about it like its an amazing bargain but get a few items and the delivery charges get massive! and some of the larger items though are so ridiculas and way more than the shops charge
Thanx

I have bought several items from them over the years and have always thought postage was dear. The items I have bought I couldnt source on the net not the exact same thing and boy now I know why, there wasnt as good as they make out.

I just use them now for entertainment, If I fancy something I buy else where because you can always find cheaper anyhow.

have you ever noticed how QVC and ideal world ,always say they have sold 20% or 40 % off the stock .They never give a figure .20% could be 5 or 10 who knows .
The biggest rip off for charges I have seen is bid-tv . premium rate number to buy good and you dont no the price till the last one is sold .And who controls the price and decides how far it will go ,they do !
I live in Northern Ireland and bid-tv delivery charges are ridicules to here ,and there call centre staff cant understand the language ,even basic english .

Completely agree with everything you've said. Although I have bought a couple of items from them when they've gone stupidly cheap.
It really bugs me when they say things along the lines of "where else can you buy X at £10" when its blatently not that much when you can buy it on the high street without postage.

We're not stupid, we can all see the delivery charge, so for once acknowledge it!
  • And if you want to return the item you have to pay the postage again!
( Unless the item is faulty)

But the biggest ripoff is price-drop tv
    travelover
  • I used to buy Liz Earle from QVC until a midwife told me that she had just set up her own website..bingo! :) not only is the price slightly cheaper the postage is as well.

I was told by a QVC worker that although a lot of their stuff is quite cheap not to mention tacky! the way they make their money is through the postage. Oh and some of the presenters think they are hollywood stars at the xmas parties..lol
    Brendan's new dance partner...please :D

Well bid tv and price drop tv are auction type channels they are bound to rip people off, obviously they are playing the viewers. And I cant believe people actually even pay to phone them on those numbers and wait on the phone

QVC aren't as bad as them because they are at least set prices but still they cheat people with the delivery costs and yes thats right people do pay if they want to return something like if a ring is the wrong size or a dress doesnt fit. You pay to return it and for the delivery of a replacement if you want one
    Thanx

I agree entirely about the p&p that QVC charge (don't use the others mentioned so don't know about them). I have often noticed that when p&p is added to the 'reduced' price it just adds up to the original price! I mentioned this once before and got jumped on by people saying 'you don't have to use QVC' so have kept quiet since - am really glad to find others who think the way I do!! :D
  • I have used QVC a lot in the past but their products seem to have become more expensive, particularly when the p+p is added on. The returns policy is not great either. I have been waiting for a refund on an article received by them on 15th october. I bought a `todays special value` tv which was faulty. I am in the process of sending it back but meantime have found the same tv for an all-in price £129 cheaper at martindawes It is far too easy to get sucked into the cosy family ambience deliberately created to sell their products.
  • I have been tempted a couple of times to buy items on there, but when I saw how much the postage was it put me off.

Don't forget the cost of postage is built into the price so what they're charging you is pure profit.
  • Ladies buy your jewllery from gems it's a couple of channels past bid up .tv at gems tv you only pay for your first purchase that day re postage any items you buy that day are postage free the jewellery is much cheaper has a ten day return and the music is very catchy remember you have been warned once you start watching your hooked starts at 8am until 2am I don't work for them I'm retired but thought I would give them a mention
