Couldn't find this one in the list for looking...
Milton Keynes is often not listed as no-one can decide what area the country it is in.
Wikipedia says South East, so there you have it...

Synergy Park, Chesney Wold, Bleak Hall, Milton Keynes, MK6 1LY
    Buckinghamshire

  • Another option for a test station that has no vested interest is the company garage at Sutton and East Surrey Water's premises on London Road, Redhill, RH1 1LJ (01737 772000). You need to book and they can get quite busy. They can handle cars, and vehicles up to 3.5cwt. I have used them several times for a high mileage LWB Mercedes Sprinter and found them fair and helpful. I imagine other similar business's may offer the same facility.

    [QUOTE=MSE_Andrea;14260331]What’s this about?

Paying for MOT repairs can take a hefty wack from your wallet. Yet there's a way to cut this cost

Sorry Andrea but you are wrong, totally wrong.

For many the MOT/VOSA test is thje only indication and legal entitlement that many, if not most, cars get in any given year.

Anyone that wants to skimp on a 1 hour test with documentation and advice for £45 has there moneysaving belt done up just tooooo tight:eek::T

She's not suggesting you get a fake one or skimp on the test, merely that you don't pay for things you don't need :)

  • I have found Amoti Service Centre on Preston Road the cheapest in Brighton for both MOT's and Repair work.

They charged me £19 for my MOT with the option to upgrade to a service for another £80 however I didnt bother as im skint! This even included a free re-test!

The car needed two tyres, they called me up with a price however made it clear that there was no obligation to get any work done. I ended up letting them do the work and the two tyres cost me around £75 for the pair.

    I would deffo recommend them - 01273623555.
  • There are no council run MOT centres in our corner of the south-east but in my experience, you can get a legitimate test without strings and hassle near Canterbury at Anderson Tyre Services, Lakeview Intl Business Park, Hersden. Cheaper than most and friendly!

For years I have been using Just Mots for the reason Martin suggested. They do not do repairs so do not have a vested interest in finding imaginary faults with your car. You can often find discounted deals by booking well in advance online, but their prices are very good and I think there is one in nearly every town. They are courteous and efficient and if your car fails you can have it retested free within ten days. My local council mot centre charges more! I think it's £38 online at the moment. A new one has just opened in Eastbourne. I have mine done at Bexhill.
  • Just rang Justmots local to us (faversham, kent) as we have friends with a class7 RV motorhome which needs an MOT, they do them in some of their centres but Maidstone is nearest. Really useful to know! Will report back how we got on but its not due for a couple of months.

Guildford (Surrey CC) was a most pleasant experience for the MOT this morning....
Called booking and was gobsmacked how nice they were.....

Arrived at 08:00, nice friendly people.(nice warm room to wait).. left at 08:45 no advisories....

Only way it could improve would be if you got a free tank of fuel!
