Blaina Gwent Council M.O.T Station in Bayfields Ind Est
Brymmwr
B Gwent0 -
There is a council test station in Bridgend off Waterton Road, where the council depot is. This is at Waterton Lane / Lon Tre-dwr. There is a really nice chap there named Graham who is doing the inspections.
No repairs, no hidden costs no nasty surprises. We previously paid in excess of £600 to get our (older) cars through the MOT, and since a few years we go there and the cars pass usually without problems (last time we went we had a 25 year old Volkswagen Bus and were fearing the worst. Passed with only minor recommendations).
The phonenumber is 01656 6428840 -
I have been using the council garage for years for my mot in Wrexham. It used to be based by Marcher Sound Radio (now Heart Radio ) but the council has moved its base to Wrexham Industrial Estate. If you head for the Redwithers Pub which everyone knows it as and it is around 1/4 mile on the same road heading up towards the old BICC factory which I think is called Minerals Cable or something like that. There is a Saab garage on the right and it is just before the Saab garage on the left.0

Any council run mot test centres in Cardiff, wheres Clair Road? TIA
Sloper Road Bus depot has an MOT station, you go in through the blue doors up the stairs to the hackney office to book an MOT.
Though why you would want to is beyond me.
They will charge the full test fee
They inspect everything with a fine tooth comb any fail item will be a guaranteed fail
If it does fail on anything you have to take it away for repair meaning an extra £30 re-test fee if within 10 days or full fee after that.
There are outlets in South Wales with £35 test fees. And garages are more likely to be lenient than council stations. And no retest fees if left for repair. A possible saving of about £55 - £60 over using a council station. I can't be bovvered to work out the exact amounts.0 -
I've just made a website for a company on Newport Road in Cardiff called Executive MOT & Service Centre.
They wanted an offers page which made some of the services really cheap. They also had a referrals thing.
Not sure what rules are like in this thread but on the GIOL threads no live links were allowed, so if you wanted to google it, its-

hope it helps someone?0 -
