Swithching Supplier - unlocking phone
OK here's the scene. I'm switching my PAYG phone from Virgin to ASDA after my current Virgin credit runs out. I don't use the mobile that much (kind of anit-mobile
) so it may be a few weeks yet.
Now the phone I have is a Virgin phone (Sony Ericsson make) and I know I have to ace for my PAC number - but my niece informs me that I'll have to get my phone unlocked and that could cost money. Is this so? Actually what's meant by unlocking a phone.
Many help for any advice
Kevin

Your phone will be "locked" to the virgin network.
Virgin charge £15 for unlocking. After it's unlocked, you will be able to use any network's sim card (without the need to unlock again in future)0 -
or if its one of the older ones, you could patch unlock it for free (depending on the model)Your phone will be "locked" to the virgin network.

but with the patch unlock, if you reload the firmware you will need to apply the patch again0 -
I have a Virgin Sony Ericsson too and I had mine unlocked at my local market for £5.0
