That's a great start Rote, you're averaging nearly £20 per day!
I keep track of them by writting them in my diary, where, which company they are for, and how much they are for. I often get a phone call or an email to clarify a point, especially from gap, but its less than it used to be. Never had a job fully declined though. NIM had one, but then he did visit the wrong shop entirely!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Not heard about the lastminute.com sales, I keep checking virtual tourist, they're usually the first to hear about cheap flights.0 -

yeah hotels are expensive, we stay in a hostel. I wasn't overly keen on this but it was ideal for us. private room, wee grocers and take out place around the corner, quiet area and the subway was about a 10 minute walk away. Just hope it hasn't gone downhill since we were last there. Wasn't keen on paying a lot of a hotel when we would hardly be in it.0

We had a cheapish hotel in New York, me and my best mate. We paid about 250 each for 4 nights i think? so 500 for the room. It was called the Pod Hotel. Most of the rooms are shared bathrooms but ours had its own little bathroom. The shared bathrooms were really nice though so would consider doing that if i went again.0

If I'm honest it's the shared bathroom that scares me, I would be willing to have a hostel or hotel so long as I had my own loo!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yeah it worried me too which is why we went for the one with the own bathroom but we had a look in the shared bathrooms and they were really nice. You can lock the whole bathroom and theres toilet, shower etc. Really clean as well. Only thing is you would have to wander down corridor in dressing gown at night!0

I stayed in the Paramount last year - v. trendy, but v. tiny rooms! Great location, but I wouldn't stay there again - my mum chose it as she loved it and luckily subsidised our room.
It's worth checking the websites of the big hotel chains (Marriot, W etc) as they often have fab deals if you book in advance. One of my friends just got 5 nights for the price of 2 in the Times Square Marriott - makes it quite reasonable per night! Ok, so it doesn't have much character, but as Tete said about Paris, you're not going to be spending much time in your room - you're in one of the most exciting cities in the world!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380
