And what's this about your tampon dress?!!!

I had to get a stand in DOTD - I think it's kind of scared Birdie into never missing a day again.

My mother is a master of sulking moods too when she wants to be. If we're having a tiff she does this terrible sad, wobbly lip, kind of face. Whenever it creeps up I always think 'Oh balls!' I've told her if she leaves me anything in this life I want it to be instructions on how to do that face to use against my own kids in time!

You're right about my being scared Cinny! No-one should have to see tampon dresses!

LOL at Pilchard and Cinny's mums! My mum is like a big 5 year old with her sulks, my Dad has spoilt her for too many years and if she doesn't get her own way... well, she'll eventually get it because no-one wants an unhappy Mummy! She's a real queen bee with us all buzzing around her, OH finds it ridiculous! I can't wait to be a mum so I can torment my kids like that!

I might be in my 40's but my mother is still a force to be reckoned with

I guess she'll only get worse as she gets older! My Grandma's terrible, she says the f word now where she never used to, at least not in front of me!

Morning all, hope you're all well. Yesterday's sunshine seems to have been replaced by fog, tho that might just be the sea mist creeping over, might burn off later. Saw OH last night and showed him the (s**t) Eurostar booking system and how expensive it is from up here and he was really shocked, I don't think he believed me when I said we couldn't get it for less than £130 rtn each, cheeky sod. He also told me off for nagging him but also reassured me that we'll get there. I'm so sick of the bloody ongoing saga though so I'm forgetting it for now.

Cinny, I've been nosing about on Flickr the last few days since you mentioned it and think I might set up an account cos I love taking pics. What do you do though, just set yourself up and make comments on other people's and then they'll look at yours? I'm not really sure of the etiquette (or the point), but it looks fun!

I'm not quite sure of the etiquette of it myself, I've been on for almost 2 years I think! I just go around adding people, who all normally add you back, then comment on photos and people comment back. It's like a mix of myspace and photobucket. It is fun though, if you sign up using a yahoo account (i think) you get a free upgrade to a 'pro' account - which most people pay for - so you can upload more than 200 pictures. If you sign up let me know and I'll add you to my tiny group of contacts!

OH has decided to stay put on the moving out front - last night we made a list of things he'd need, cooker fridge ect and looked the prices up on argos, then on ebay. After refusing to move in with him he decided it costs too much, he's going to clear his OD (Last CC payment next Friday for him :T ) then save a bit before flying the nest.

ETA: Just looking at my O2 account on line, I think I'll ring up this afternoon see if they can downgrade it or something. Contracts till November, then I can go on pay as you go and manage on £10 a month!

Oooh, Cinny you should have a look at 3, they're doing a £9 a month deal (and you can get a referral thingy that gives the existing customer (me if you can't find anyone else!) and whoever signing up to 3 £45 credit so you'll get 5 months free!)

I have no idea what Flickr is, or twitter, I can't get onto them at work (they block most networking sites) and forget to check them out when I'm at home. Not that I could check now if I wanted, but hopefully we'll be online next week!

Not that I want to play Devil's Advocate or anything, but it is possible to rent furnished flats so OH wouldn't have to buy a cooker, fridge, washing machine etc. My OH's old place wasn't technically furnished but it still had the big appliances there so he didn't have to fork out for them. It's a good idea to save up for a bit, but when he is ready to fly the nest, just keep an eye out for places with appliances included.

I think they're called part-furnished aren't they when white goods are included? Might be a good compromise, but at the same time I think it's v sensible for him to pay off his debts, save up a deposit and start with a clean slate.

Thanks for the info on Flickr, I'll set myself up later, I'm very snap happy! I signed up to twitter Birdie to see what the fuss was about but it looked a bit boring to me, just like the status thing on Facebook but without the other bits...

I don't get why people feel the need to constantly blog about their lives, how interesting can it be? I don't even like the status thing on facebook, I feel kind of stupid telling people what I'm up to or how I'm feeling. I know how little I care about other people's status, so why would they care about mine?! What gets me is when couples split up the first thing they do is announce it on facebook, I'd be a little busy throwing his stuff out onto the street and seeing the bottom of a bottle of wine! Maybe I'm just not into the techno age!

I do like taking pictures with my pretty pink camera though so I may check out Flickr!

I was on twitter for about a day, then deleted it. Didn't get the fuss at all, I don't do enough to keep on updating people about it!

There were the flats near the office, £100 p/w fully furnished with bills included, I think I mentioned it! I think that would be perfect for him, as he could still pay off his OD at the same time.

Well something just as good but with white goods may pop up! Give it 6 months then start looking again. If he does have to buy them, get them 2nd hand as the next place he moves to may already have them fitted so he'll have to get rid! (This is from OH's experience!)

I wonder if Dinah's feeling better today?
