Thank you andan (I notice your list is extra long today, are you showing off? :D)

I think you just pick yourself up and have to deal with things really. I had cleared down a lot of my debt before the accident. I made the decision afterwards to pay for extra physio and racked (good pun) up another £6.5k of debt. However, it's a small price to pay for an arm that is almost as good as new. I was told it would never work again. So money well spent and now's the time to pay it back! And it's small fry in comparison to what Sophiesmum is going through right now.

It's finding folk like you to help and encourage that has made things easier, I'll be here for a long time yet!

  • Okay; today I finshed off my spending spreadsheets up to August... so I can see where (or more aptly where not) my money has gone.

Now, right now, I've made a cup of coffee and I'm off to phone 02 to find out how much longer I have on my contract. If it's a while; then I'll tidy my room. If not; I'll find out more and get a better deal!

  • Hugs to all those who are feeling under the weather at the moment:grouphug:

Piquant - sounds like you have had a really tough time since your accident, hope that the physio has paid off - I always think money spent on your health is money well spent as it affects your quality of life so much.

Andan - you must be picking up a little, now we are back to your usual lists:D

OliveOyl - Have a lovely time with Popeye and make the most of every day you have together:j :j

KTjazz - Good to have you back, you are right it is easy to start drifting without the thread to keep you motivted. I have gone off the rails too in the past couple of weeks and need to focus again.I find it much easier to get motivated by getting things down in writing:D

    Hi all

I don't mean to be a party pooper here but should we be advocating using the company electricity to charge your phones? I would have thought that this was stealing if you have not asked - but then I am assuming you haven't! :o

However, a lad I worked with a while ago was sacked for charging his mobile at work, the reason given was that all portable appliances have to undergo a check by a qualified electrician each year and appliances bought in by employees could not be excepted. He was warned but kept on doing it and in the end they sacked him.

    Just a thought.

Most phones can now be charged via a usb port whilst you are using work computer and not actually using any extra electricity anyway, some people also charge their phones in the company car.My employers are happy for me to charge my phone at work, I often use it for work related use anyway:D

Obviously this is down to individuals to use their discretion in their own situations.

  • Hi everyone - this is only my second ever post

Today I have done the following:

-Checked online banking and updated september's spreadsheet
-Ate yesterdays leftover pasta for lunch instead of eating out.....
    - Been shopping for eternity ring for anniversary prezzie for the missus (I worked overtime last month and made £200.00 extra for this. When I got into the shop I managed to barter down to £140.00!! that's an extra £60.00 off my OD!

Thanks to everyone else's list I have some good ideas to try for the rest of the month! :T

    Cheers

Your right piquant, you can not put a price on health and happiness and its great news that the extra physio has paid off. It's amazing what people in this world can do when they put their mind to it.

Now enough of being deep and philosophical, i now need to work on how i can cut down on my spending, especially as you seem to be showing off there with your 8 nsd's!! :rotfl:
