I am convinced this was done to me when we bought and I fell for it
In hindsight, property had been on the market for 5 months so 2 buyers coming along at once is a bit unrealistic. Wish I'd been paying more attention to this board back then!!!
It does happen. I was selling a property last year that hd been on the market for nearly 12 months. We had two viewings on the same day, both offered the same amount, both increased to the same amount. In the end one of the buyers reckoned we were stringing him along due to the length of time the property had been on the market. He refused to increase his offer & lost the property to the other party. I spoke to him a few weeks later & he said he was convinced we were playing him, even putting a sold board on the property.0
