THEY do it all the time..i bet there is no other viewing today as well..They still think its 2007
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

How many times have you used that statement on here?

Potential buyer: Don't you know that property prices are dropping faster than any time in history and I have a right to buy the house for whatever I want? [/quote]

Hmmm, I don't think a buyer has a right to buy someone elses property for whatever price they see fit.

I put an offer on a house which was accepted, then the estate agent said a higher offer had been received and wanted me to enter a bidding war. I delcined.

Looking on houseprices it seems the other buyer paid considerably more than my offer, they paid the full asking price. I'd imagine the estate agent told them my offer was higher than it was. I can't think why else someone would pay the full asking price in the current market.
Go and knock on the buyer's door and tell them what you offered and every time you pass the estate agent's place, have a quiet smirk to yourself.

I am convinced this was done to me when we bought and I fell for it :(

In hindsight, property had been on the market for 5 months so 2 buyers coming along at once is a bit unrealistic. Wish I'd been paying more attention to this board back then!!!
