There are some inconsistencies in your statement.

"I have an 03 Corsa SXi and while it has never let me down"

"it has cost me £1500 in the past year in services"

"it's in the garage now and going to set me back £380 for a new wiper motor"

I would hate to see you have a car that HAS let you down.

What I mean is it always starts first time and has never broken down when I've been driving it.

In over 12 years of driving I have never spent more than £600 to repair/service a car in any one year, although I do low mileage annually. That was spend on a bmw 323 ci coupe last year on changing a clutch, all four brake pads, rear discs and a wheel bearing after I bought the car. It seems to me you have could have lower your cost by asking for quotes from a few garages instead just going to your usual one.

I know my garage is expensive but it is also next to my office so basically I am paying for the convenience...not very MSE I know but this time, I didn't have the time to sort out more quotes unfortunately.
