It would merge the protection although its Lloyds so not something to worry about.
I wonder who HSBC have got their eyes on to pick up cheap?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. HBOS have four operations that share a banking licence so only £35k is 'protected'. Not sure how Lloyds TSB run their licences but I would have thought it would put off at least the informed investors. You'd think these are the folk they want to keep.0 -

Or Standard Chartered, the stress this market is under I can see it bouncing like it is attached to an elastic band if something takes the pressure off.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
At least this will finally kill off the 'Hbos dhares' thread :j :j
Ah but there will be a new thread about the mergered banks which depending on the
name will be:-
ASBO dhares (Anglo-Scottish Banking Organisation)
or
BOLLOX dhares (Bank Of Llyods and halifaX of Scotland)
Which is going to be exciting0 -

The guy on newsnight last night said it would be called lloydshalifax. No mention of that today.
He also said the headquarters would be in England, however in todays report it says they will continue to use the Scottish headquarters.
I remember recently when HBOS were making "cuts" Howard was one of them. Two Pound Coin Savings club - Started 11/2/06 - £550 banked so far :T0 -

Or we could be in for something far worse. Howard singing the adverts in the current Lloyds style. :eek:I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
