Neither should they be slaughtered for posting for help or looked down upon.

I was always told if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.;)

Why should I remain silent when mortgage rescue schemes impact on my own situation and future?

Mortgage bailouts - if they really exist - rig the market, and stop prices falling when otherwise they would fall, and stop good healthy money that is waiting to come in.
    Cmon show me s5gi7-6a

That is worrying - no idea where that came from. I'm sure I didn't type it. Maybe it read my mind.

I can see your point, but there is not enough healthy money at the moment either.

You wouldn't be a very good prosecutor, then.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
  • It is the Govt responsibility to make sure children are protected, and this method is cheaper then anything else other then leaving them on the streets.

The main issue is lenders giving families/individuals mortgages which had a high LTV.

If Mortgages were harder to get in the first place, then house prices would be more stable as long as Govt built more social housing to compensate.

As for Protection payments for Mortgages, well they are poorly explained and sold purely for the profit value to the Lender, and rather difficult to claim when you need it!

They were greedy, and didn't query all the self cert. applications from brokers/IFA's coming in...to basically bypass the stricter criteria of normal mortgages.

Ah they lied to get a bigger mortgage for a nice house and now can't afford the repayments. That is ok then. Think of the children.

Let those who didn't lie stay priced out yes?
  • Unfortunately a lot of mortgage applicants tell porkies to get mortgages. However, many have grown up in the 'you can have credit, how much do you want' era, with very little understanding of what they are getting into.

If it was like the old days when you went cap in hand to the BS, then IMHO house prices would be more affordable to people who could afford to buy under a tougher disposable income calculator.
  • It must be hard for all of you. In what way is your child disabled?

She has a genetic disorder called tetrasomy 12p.

  • I greatly admire people who can bring up severely disabled children lovingly and properly. I fear I would not be able to do the same.

You would, they're just your kids and you do whatever it takes to care for them. Initially you're knocked flat and grieve a little for the child you 'lost', then you pick yourself up and start loving the child you've got.

She's a right character and full of mischief. I was washing off a clowns face she had drawn on her face with felt tips this morning. It's hard to look all stern and 'Dad like' when you just want to burst out laughing. She had a brilliant red nose, I was very impressed to be honest.

Financially it's hard, no matter how much you save when you're planning to have kids, it's never enough and that's really true if they have a disability. I really feel for families who aren't as lucky as we are with me having a job where I can go contracting and make up for the loss of my missus' wage.

I guess this is why I'm so vocal on issues like this thread. Some people are so quick to condemn others for their financial troubles without taking the time to find out the causes. Yes some people are probably a bit daft with money, but does it help anyone to kick them when they're down? Others might be much more financially astute than all of the posters who condemn them, but they just had a bit of bad luck or circumstances occurred out of their control.

Prosecutor or defence, I could do neither.
I feel to socially responsible to try and send a person I knew was innocent down.
Or to defend a murderer, rapist or paedophile who I knew was guilty.
    Plus I am not qualified.;)
