Wedding Guest Books - a great idea

our disposable cameras were total dissapointment, the yong kids got hold of them and took lots of ceiling and floor. i had hoped we would get lots of au natural shots of things we missed on the day. no chance! out best man got a plate which the guests all signed, then he got it glazed, it is now priide of place on out matlepiece. Another idea is to get a large photo mount, say to frame a 16 by 12 photo, then get guests to sign the mount, then bride and groom choose their favourite pic and the photos with mount is a lively keepsake... we did the guest book with polariod photos when we got married last october, it os very popular and i love the photos, esp the ones where the guests are worse for wear!0

We also did the Polaroid thing - it was great. We bought a photo album, the type with black pages and thin interleaves. We provided a few silver pens and people wrote with those. My sister went to every table after about half an hour and made sure she explained what to do, took the pic and then passed it on. It is a brilliant reminder of our day. I stuck some of the menu's, table numbers, etc in the back to fill it up.
We had disposable cameras and I asked my dad to mention them in his speech and ask people to use them during the evening. My mother went around and collected them later in the night and walked around finishing those that still had a few shots left.0 -
My cousin just got married and had a photographer at the entire reception for good candid shots. Must have cost a fair bit but probably well worth it as he was at least sober!
She also had a guest book but it didn't make it round everyone and my mum never got to sign it (too busy drunken jiving with dad!) DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

at my brother's wedding we did both the guestbook and the table cameras.
For the guestbook, we bought a mini poloroid camera that prints instant stickers. It cost us abou £10 and a couple of films cost about £10 too... Got them both from boots. You take the photos, they print out and then you stick them in the book so ppl can sign.... worked well I think (not seen the finished product)
The table cameras worked really well too......0 -

I wish i read all this before l got married 18 months ago.
For my wedding my best mate got my hubby to cut 100 paper hearts to bring with him when he collected me from my parents home ( its a common pratice with chinese weddings) It counted as one of his tasks. As in our culture when he comes to collect me , he 1st meets my group of "hens" at my parents door, with his "stags" they have to do tasks before they allow him in the house.
later on at the banquet my best mate when around the tables getting ppl to put messages on the paper hearts. I thought it was very touchingA smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0
