Just found this on https://www.alpharooms.com - showing up as 4 rooms available at £71.22 per room including free continental breakfast

EXPRESS BY HOLIDAY INN GLASGOW CITY RIVERSIDE

This modern hotel is situated on the River Clyde, only a few minutes' walk from Glasgow's city centre and five minutes from Central Station. 128 rooms with power shower, hair dryer, television with satellite channels and in-house movies. The hotel has its own bar and Glasgow's newest Italian restaurant is located next door.

Right in the centre. You'll catch a train from the Central station direct to Hampden Park.

Why is this only available on alpharooms, if you look at the Holiday Inn Site, it's unavailable?

Agents like alpharooms buy blocks of rooms from hotels which they sell on, so it is quite common for a hotel to show up as full when you try them direct, only to find rooms available from other agents.
  • I live in East Kilbride, it is 8 miles from Glasgow. There are a few hotels here, Holiday Inn, A Travel Lodge as well. Trains every half hour into glasgow, takes around half an hour to get in as well. There are also places called Hamilton and Bellshill that are also near Glasgow in Lanarkshire with Hotels that have train stations available to get into Glasgow easily enough.

You could try booking an apartment for the night.

The following is not 4* but it does have the advantage of being £38 per night at the time you want it. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/6c/1/en/hd/stdex
