My advice - Take that b@stard for every penny he's got.

You're really not cut out to be a landlord are you?

So, from your advice, we can assume that anyone who is a LL needs, in your world, to be able to:
    • get matters out of all proportion
    • fleece their tenants
    • be obnoxious
It's reassuring that many LLs operate under a different standard to yours.

As a LL, I would just fix this myself to be honest (50+ woman, limited DIY skills). If I was elsewhere and couldn't, and had to pay someone, I would just do it. You just can't be too precious if you rent out your property.

common sense dawn , would like you as my LL. !!:j

All this is making me feel as though I will be treading on eggshells in the place we are about to rent.
The truth shall set you free.....................
  • you should have put in your tenancy agreement..'no drawing pins in walls'.
people wish to treat a rental house as their home at the end of the day.
It certainly wouldnt have occurred to me that I couldnt put pins in the wall.

That was my experience of renting! This was the type of thing that really pi**ed me off, as I thought I was paying rent for a home, and with a ban on blu-tac and picture hooks, it was like Bleak House. TBH, I doubt that the next tenant will be too precious about a few small holes.
