definitely eid-al fitr, it would be lovely to see an eid logo, so bring it on!!0

Eid this year was expected on 1 october but is actually starting tuesday 30 September.
This Eid is actually Eid ul-Fitr which is to celebrate theend of fasting for the whole month of Ramadan. The "other" Eid is called Eid ul-Adha which will take place in early December and is celebrated after Hajj (pilgramage) and is also to symbolise how Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son Ismael. (*note* Bible also has the sacrifice story of Abraham but Christians say is was Issac who was to be sacrificed but Muslims say Ishmael. This is, it has been argued because Jesus is decended from Issac and Muhammad is decended from Ishmael). Eid last for 3 days.
Eid Mubarak (happy Eid!) to anyone celebrating0 -
Why don't you use both?
They are at different times of year anyway.
It is difficult to measure how important each one is because they signify and celebrate different things.0 -
Have just seen this thread, as dont really go into that forum.
oooh thanks MSE for thinking of us! Any eid logo will be really appreciated and gladly welcomed by any celebrating.

Happy Eid everyone :-)
Nice logo0 -
Thumbs up from me also.
Thanks too... it's more the gesture and recognition that I am pleased about. Even if you hadn't put a banner up but just a formal greeting in a thread from the MSE team would have meant alot.
Bar one post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1192341&highlight=eid I'm pleasantly surprised by the positive response and acceptance by non-Muslim MSErs.
Rock on0
