Don't suppose you know what's actually in the 'blood' - it might help with treating it?

I don't know what was in it, as it was enclosed inside a mask (well it was supposed to be inside it!) I don't want to phone the Mum to ask really.

As it's for children, is it edible? or should I say 'safely ingestible'? - If so it should say what is in it on the pack... so u may need to contact the parent

All depends on if the pigment is chemically neutral or not.

As a start I would be trying white wine on an area that didn't matter....
  • Assuming it's red   :D then you may be out of luck. Red pigments (natural and artificial) are notorious for being the most difficult to remove.

What colour is the carpet? I bit of dilute bleach, or rubbing alcohol might help.

You need to contact your local church and arrange an exorcism

    Sorry............

Contact the parent, and find out who made the mask. If it was meant to be contained, then speak to the manufacturer, and get them to clean your carpet (or replace it!)

From all the vampire films I've seen, daylight usually shifts it. However, it is usually quite a violent reaction and usually on a stone floor, so it might take the carpet with it.

    I'll get my cloak ...

OK, on the assumption that it may be a food dye, I "googled" this link ...

Thank you for your replies, thanks button missing.
Unfortunately when we changed our insurance a few months ago I dropped the all risk part of the policy, so we are not even covered on the insurance. I don't know the mother, first time I have seen her was when she was 30 minutes late to pick up her little witch!
  • That is so weird, I was going to come online just to ask this question, and it's the first thing I found! Please let me know if it works, cos my OH doesn't realise yet lol :rotfl: it's a new mattress too :o methinks I should act quick
I'm learning little by little... I'll get there one day!!!

I've found that sprinkling the salt on really does make a difference - it will lift a lot of the stain out (leaving you with pink salt, yuk!) then the blood that's left is easier to deal with , without leaving you with a wet soggy mattress for days
    weaving through the chaos...
