yep. dreamweaver is pretty much the best.
That's coming from a previously strict HTML notepad coder only person..
I use dreamweaver because it speeds everything up. I code a lot of it by hand in dreamweaver but then save it as a template and use that to create my pages. Saves a lot of time.
F1F1 basically summed up the problems with frontpage.. The code it produces is often unneccessary, bulky and even more worrying not cross browser friendly!! It often creates IE only features or at least will if you let it.
Learning html is worth the effort. It's relatively simple and there is sooooo much help around and using notepad to create a website is completely free and you can do it anywhere..
There's a fantastic website lisa explains it all (google for it as I can't remember the link) for basic html help and https://www.tutorality.com has some good stuff too (although some of it is more advanced - also covers graphics programs, php etc too)0 -

If much of your work involves creating photo albums then take a look at Porta http://www.stegmann.dk/mikkel/porta/
It is a very simple program which automates the generation of web albums. If you are mastering HTML then you can eaily modify the code produced by Porta to incorporate the output in an existing web page.0 -
Have been asked to help out with a website update. I can code in HTML but have now discovered the site is written and uploaded in Frontpage. Will I have to update in Frontpage or can I just amend the HTML code? What about uploading? I have always used FTP surfer but it doesn't seem to have facility for fropage - or am I being particularly dim??
Any advice appreciated
Thanks0 -

You can edit the pages in any program you like. Then just upload the site files via your own FTP program.0 -

Thanks for that. I thought that but was told by the person who designed the site that I'd have to learn frontpage! Presumably I'll have to check with host about uploading in HTML format rather than frontpage.
