just set the date yesterday, 21st november 2009.

i booked the registry office this morning, now to try and organise everything for under £1000, which i dont even have yet!!!

    Congratulations!!

Have you had a look through this board - there are lots of ideas to keep the costs down, and lots of us doing it on a tight budget.

Have you booked your reception venue?(if your having one)

yeah I am lookind around the board. I am going to ebay the dress, and get a friend to alter it. we are having the reception at the local village hall, a few ideas for decoration that will sort it out very cheaply. Pretty much all i need to do now is think of a way to entertain the guests in the afternoon until the reception. the wedding is at 12, and i cant afford 2 sets of food on a £1000 budget!!

    hi all

I haven't been on here for a good 6 months. I have been reading and keeping up with all the bides which have joined and the brides who have got married :j.

Its now 5 months today for us and wow time seems to be flying. I keep trying to get around to start writing the invites as they need to go out soon as we have to have final numbers beginning on Nov. After a very bad begining to the start of the year our guest list has changed alot. we are hopefully doing the final list tonight ready to start writing.

I have got my first dress fitting booked for 8th Aug which will be nice to try it on again.

I seem to have got into a lull(sp??) when we got engaged 2 years ago all i could do was plan and i did everything i could do asap. Now though when things need to be done i just cannot get the engery up to do them.

I keep trying to sort out my hen do but my MOH has completly different ideas about what should happen. I want a night in with beer, a movie and take away with friends. she wants to book this very expensive health spa for 2 days with treatments. I know thats a lovely idea but its just not what i want.

The stag do seems to have no planning as none of the men seem to want to make a choice over whats happening. It was hard enough getting them together for the suit fitting a few months back.

Think thats all the update. I look forward to reading more about your plans and how they are going.

    Deb :)

well it looks like we might be changing the date to the 28th of november instead of the 21st. my finance's mum is into astrology (very very very) and thinks the moon and sun etc are in a better position for us the week after; and has also said she will contribute £3000 to the wedding fund (thats 3 times what i was planning/affording on spending!!! so i have asked the musician if he can do the week after, waiting on a response, and if he says he can do it, i will call the registry office in the morning.

My mums wedding is fast approaching (12th sept) and i need to go dress shopping with her, i have recommended good ebay places and landy, but as she is a plus size bride, we need to work out what kind of shape works best; so at least we will both get a chance to try on dresses so we know which shape works for both of us.

glad i didnt book the venue and bar already now, would only have to change them!
