AOL Broadband phone tag due to AOL UK being bought over by the Carphone Warehouse

Has anyone experienced this?
My broadband hasn't been working for the last few weeks. After somewhere in the region of 40 phone calls (that isn't a lie) between the AOL call centres in both India and Ireland, been bumped from pillar to post and no 2 people telling me the same answer. I eventually had to pay to get a computer engineer to come out who found that there was nothing wrong with the modem and nothing wrong with the PC.
After more phone calls to AOL last week and being told conflicting stories I was eventually told that a phone tag had been put on my line on the 21st August due to system enhancements / migration resulting from them being bought over by the Carphone Warehouse.
Has anyone else experienced this? And also the shocking customer service from AOL?

While I was online suddenly connection went dead...possibly about 2 weeks ago.
It took me 2 phone calls to get it fixed; one long and the second much shorter...sounds like the same problem. Seemed to do the same procedure several times, but finally it worked and all now well. Apparently it was due to the migration thingy.
You need to fiddle round with the router settings; the CSA told me what to do. The CSA said that they had quite a few problems with it from other customers.
Hope its now fixed for you0 -
Not tried to install the new router yet. Got some more conflicting information from AOL again yesterday. Call Centre in India said that phone tag was removed yesterday, called back later and got the AOL Irish call centre and they said it was getting removed today. I also spoke to BT and they said they couldn't see any phone tag!
I'm going to try again this evening.0 -
I didnt even know they had an Irish call centre.
Good luck0
