Intermittent Broadband

I live in a small village in Worcestershire (not particularly remote) and along with other residents have an 'intermittent' broadband connection. The problem is that whether wireless or wired we can only get intermittent internet connection, generally 6am-8am and 6pm-10pm (ie high demand times). The problem seems to be BT broadband capacity - or lack of it. BT aren't interested (because we're not their direct customer I suppose), our ISP providers put is through to call centres that have no idea and we're at an impass. For this we pay £15.99 a month.

Tthis is a major problem for those of us who work from home.

Has anybody suffered similar problems and any suggestions?

What router statistics do you / your neighbours get?
Are you getting your broadband via BT or an LLU operator?

Would be helpful if your named the ISP since you say it's not BT. If it's a BT connect system then you may be out of luck with getting it sorted as it's a capacity/ contention issue and you have no SLA in place.
