CD-ROM will not start

The Vista term for My Computer is..........................Computer.

Press Start and you will find Computer on the right hand side of the menu.

ok i opened it and i have a os c drive and a recovery d drive what do i need to do now

You should have another bit that says

"Devices with removable storage"

And under that you should see your DVD drive

Do you have a "computer" icon on your desktop?
If so right click on that then click properties then device manager.

There you will see a list of hardware and your cd/dvd should be there.

Or try going to control panel from the start menu and under Hardware and Sound there is an option to play cds and other media automatically

yes i found it under device manager, it says windows cannot load the device driver for this software. It may be corrupted or missing. error code 39. Then i tried to update it and says i have the correct one?

If you google error code 39 loads of sites come up

like this - applies to XP but I assume will work in Vista, or you could google further

yeah i did that still couldnt get it to work im gonna give up now or il end up throwing the pc out the window will try again tomorrow, thankyou for all your help though, i really appreciate it.
