Hi All

Have been reding for a while and thought i`d post for some advice , which would be greatly appreciated

This is my situation (i thought as its debt to put it here not in credit cards but feel free to move it )

I have this debt :

Egg @ 14.9 £120 limit £1750
Marbles @ 14.9 £166 limit £3200
Barclaycard @ 6.9 £1600 & £941 @ 17.9 limit £8100
BOS @ 0% Till 08/06 £ 1590 limit £ 1700
Halifax @ 6.9 £1000 limit £1000 (just transfeered £1000 from bcard

My Question is has anyone got any tips on how to shuffle it around to try and save some money because things are really tight and im starting to worry , for example i know that the bcard 6.9 will be paid before the 17.9 and thats worrying me because bcard have just increased the standard rate by 2 % so its not even at 15.9 but 17.9 till it gets down to the 6.9 (FOREVER AT MINIMUM PAYMENTS !)
Also , Halifax and BOS Wont increase limits at moment , maybe because i havent had them long ??

anyhow , any advice would be warmly appreciated

Cheers

Dave

You've been given advice on the Debt Free Wannabe board.

  • At present you have what I consider to be considerable debts.
In addition the the debts you have the facility to get yourself into considerably more debt. I think you should reduce the limits on some of your credit cards and not allow your debt to snowball further.

Perhaps some posters keep posting until they get the answer they want to hear rather the answer they should be hearing!

    1. Reduce the limits on the Barclaycard & Marbles cards.
    2. Order your CRA reports to confirm they've done this.
    3. Apply for another 0% card and shuffle some/all of your debt onto this.
    4. Make use of the Egg anniversary (if it's the Egg "Card" - you didn't answer this question when you were asked on the other board yesterday??).
    5. Pay more than the minimum payments.
    6. Start living within your means.

Perhaps , you shouldnt make presumptions , these are joint debts , and neither of us have used a credit card for months
