I've been busy clearing my freezer out ready to prep some meals and standbys for Christmas. Over the weekend, my lovely MIL sent a stack of frozen turkey drumsticks etc labelled '2008' back with DH because she's "clearing her freezer out, ready for Christmas". So now it's packed full again.
DH isn't keen on turkey in any form other than Christmas lunch but the OS in me says I can't waste this. I don't want to fill the freezer either. Ideas anyone?0 -

I think I'd take the meat off the bones and use it for a casserole of some kind. With a strongly-flavoured sauce I find it's difficult to tell the difference between turkey and chicken (I know this as I'm also not keen on turkey but buy it rather than chicken occasionally if it's on special offer).

I rarely buy turkey, although I don't mind it. It makes good stock, and great soups. Hopefully nobody will realise (or care!) what they're eating then. You could also try a risotto or curry.0

Hi Scotrae , I looked up turkey leg recipes to see if that has any ideas?
I love Jamies Turkey and leek pie. The gravy is gorgeous and the leeks melt in your mouth!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

If he likes Christmas dinner you could do some 'Christmas dinner sandwiches' for him for work etc, some turkey, cranberry sauce and some stuffing, then it looks like you have used turkey on purpose for the theme which you know he likes.
I would probably whack the whole drumstick into the slowcooker as part of a curry or something, the meat will just fall off the bone then!God is good, all the time

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know where I can get this recipe from? I have made my basic mince and cant locate my copy of Good Food that this was in. Help!
Thanks!0 -
hi ladies and gents, Quick Q. My neighbour has made buttercream and it is too runny? just thicker than double cream (after being in the fridge). She made it with butter and icing sugar (4oz butter, 8 ice sugar). As she wants it for butterfly buns she wants it a thicker consistency . WOuld she just add more icing sugar? TIA! xA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

If she has a finite amount of icing sugar I would be tempted to take out some of what she has made already or she may be adding sugar forever. If she then finds she has enough she can add it back in! The runnier stuff may solidify a little but she will have to add a whole lot more sugarGod is good, all the time
