Got rid of two large bags - one of books and one of clothes - to the charity shop yesterday :).

DS1 has phoned to ask if he can store his g/f's son's bike for christmas in my house :(!
  • I'm moving in 2 weeks to a shared house, and have 13 years worth of stuff (from having my own house) to whittle down...i'm bloody terrified at the prospect :rotfl:

If i don't post again in 2 weeks, send in the search and rescue...i'm probably buried under a pile of rubbish somewhere! :rotfl:

Roller tray and paint roller x2
    2 boxes of filler
    4 bird feeders
5 roof tiles – had leaky roof and our lovely roofer replaced them for free as he had some spare tiles in his van! What a star!
Ornamental stone miniature Chinese pagoda in the garden freebie from MIL
Cushion with a cat on it – im a sucker for cats!
    1 tin of paint
    1 magazine

    Out
    1 box of filler
    1 & ½ tin of paint
Porch light – sold on ebay
    Top – sold on ebay
Rubbish swept from the spare room
    Beeding from tatty old laminate
    1 mug sold on ebay
    Vouchers sold on ebay

    Pending
More clothes and general stuff on ebay – fingers crossed
Must put another book on Amazon
Pictures and frames on sale on ebay
New carpet due to come in – am finally ready to recarpet

Feel very productive as even though a lot of stuff came in last week, its all either gone on walls or roofs or gone in the garden and I think very little money has been spent and a lot of cheaper alternatives have come up. plus I have a steady stream of ebay things either selling or being sold – hoping to do a big push up till xmas – surely this is a good time to ebay? Does anyone know if it is a good time to car boot – now its coming up to xmas? I have a lot of stuff that isn’t up to ebay quality but could be car booted but I don’t want to fritter away a precious Saturday morning if I wont make much money!

  • I'm back after my staycation...and de-cluttering week.

    Results:

    Out:
6 full bags to charity shops
5 full bin bags to the bin (except I don't have a bin - for once it's handy not to have a bin - I was able to just dump the bags on the street and leave them for the council to collect!!)

    In:
Couple of cute giftsets from charity shops (I have used the boxes to re-organise some of the bits and bobs and will treat myself with the contents! :) )

    In/out: plenty of wine.

It was a tough four days in the beginning of the week to get all the cleaning and de-cluttering done - I must admit I have left my wardrobes for the next holiday as I couldn't face anymore mess (you know, the kind where you are half-way thorugh cleaning and have a huge mess and wonder if it was worth starting it!).

I am proud to say that my "Monica from Friends" -cupboard has been tidied too and I managed to do most of my loft as well. (And de-frosted and cleaned my fridge/freezer too - including the cooling element at the back!!) :rotfl: I must admit I was feeling a bit lost after all the cleaning and started looking for more small things to do in the evenings... :rotfl:
