I think I need to do this, I've got stuff we don't need and worse don't use, like about 50+ cassette tapes and no player (never had one for years) so why do I keep em:mad:
Today I took my old yoga mat, children's clothes that no longer fit, shoes, slippers to the charity shop. So two bags worth out and nothing in:j.
I'm currently planning to go through my house room by room and get rid of stuff we don't use, oh is going to help (whether he likes it or not:rotfl:).0 -
i've been on here on and off since the start, do well then it all goes by the wayside.
i'm back on the wagon again now, sent OH to his care home with a suitcase full of 'car boot' stuff which can be used to raise funds at their christmas fund raiser. I've decided that we're unlikely to do much more in the car boot like so i'm going to start smuggling stuff to the charity shops etc. OH is insistent that we will do them but we never do. argh!
this mess is doing my head in, and i've got a lot to get sorted in a short time.0 -
Out: 1 bag to charity, 1 bag to the rubbish bin, 1 book to Greenmetropolis.com customer.
In: I'm going out in a minute to the 1p M&S sale, Boots for some "ladies' essentials" and to Coast to use my £30 discount voucher from Red magazine.0 -
...... nothing in:j.
Out - bag taken to charity shop including a game, clothes, slippers etc..
I have sorted one of the book cupboards and I will take the unwanted books to charity tomorrow.
I've decided to do out the cupboards first (so we have room for the things we want to keep).0 -
In nothing :j again.
Out - two bags of stuff to the charity shop, was going to leave it until Monday, but they where in the hallway. It got to half an hour before they closed so I thought I'd take them so I could de-clutter more to take on Monday!!!!
Going to go through bairns' rooms tomorrow. I think I'll put them a DVD on and do it myself because last time we did it they apparently played and needed everything:rolleyes: although I know that there's stuff lurking in the toy box that they never play with.0 -
Hooooraaaaayyyyyyy!!!! I got into our dining room yesterday and scoured it from top to bottom (what my mum called 'bottoming' a room!). It isn't used much in the summer, and can get a bit dusty - and all the essential paperwork gets dumped in there - in principle, filed away, but often just dumped on the table. We were away for much of the summer, and since returning we've had the slowest builders in the world in installing a conservatory. All the furniture from the old conservatory, then, got dumped in the dining room, so what with one thing and another the room was in a pretty grubby state with itself. The conservatory was eventually completed last weekend, and the furniture went out into it.
So, yesterday morning, black bag in one hand, broom, dustpan, brush, cloths etc etc on the other and with courage in my heart, I got stuck in. Grooo - it wasn't nice in places - and I didn't inspect too closely the grey, slightly squishy small thing I pulled out from under the sideboard when I got under there with a damp cloth. Best not to know what it was when it was alive...
All clean again, with a good sort out of the ornaments in there too, so that it's not quite so overladen. Almost makes me want to eat in there again now!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
