Great thread, just discovered it now.
I've moved house 4 times in the last 12 months, and keep trying to declutter along the way. I have loads of books listed to sell on Greenmetropolis.com and am hoping to get rid of some of the huge overspill of stuff that way.
This week, I've thrown out/donated to charity/sold:
1 single 13.5 tog duvet
1 single bedsheet
1 polo shirt
2 cardigans
1 DVD
1 jug
2 Monopoly sets
2 books
But have had to buy:
A cutlery set
A pan set
2 sets of bedding and sheets (I had none for my new double bed)
Crockery
And am planning, when my Argos giftcard comes through, to also buy:
4 pillows and 1 duvet, which will mean I throw away 2 old pillows and donate my old duvet to charity.
Once a month, from now on, I plan to go through my things to get rid of things I don't want any more as I seem to have a huge amount and keep finding things I don't remember having so never really needed to begin with.0 -

I have really gone off Freecycle, some group Mods are so unhelpful and restrictive and I fear that a lot of what I've given has gone to boot sales or dealers. Whilst that's in line with Freecycle ethos it's not what I want to do with my stuff, I'd rather it went to help those individuals who need it and not line the pockets of dealers.0 -
Hi,

Not much out this week, but have some time off work starting next weekend, so hoping to get more done then.
I've just found loads of cosmetics/face stuff in a bedroom drawer which I've transferred to the bathroom, otherwise it will never be used up. I have enough moisturiser, face masks and nail varnish to last a loooong time - absolutely no buying of cosmetics until I've used up what I've got!
In
Three pairs of socks and a pair of bargain trousers (for running) from Matalan.
Five scarves and three tops from my sister.
Book borrowed off Mum.
Out
Pair of holey socks and pair of laddered stockings into 'rag bag'.
Shrivelled up blemish stick and manky nail varnish binned.
Last season Argos catalogue and one magazine recycled.
Pending
Two belts, small handbag and a decorative notebook into charity bag. Now have a carrier bag full, so will be taken to charity shop this week.0 -
Just been browsing https://www.clutter.co.uk - inspired me to have a quick look through the shelves next to my computer to see if there was anything else I could get rid of. Found 9 videos and 1 CD to go into the charity shop bag. We don't even have a VHS player any more!
There are more videos, but these belong to OH who is a worse hoarder than me, so I doubt he'll get rid of them until we replace them on DVD!
