i can attest to how effective skin so soft is. i only ever had their original one (it had pink lettering) but even that kept them away even whilst gardening and of course raking up quite a swarm of them... good stuff and smells nice too0 -

I've been wondering where Weezl was too! Maybe the frugal electricity plan is keeping her away from the computer0 -
I have been away for the weekend, camping.
To Oban, and midge land
I was ok though...as I had the secret weapon in midge repellant
We walked for miles.. up, down, round, in rain, in sunshine.
To Mull, and Tobermory
We even went on an open air, walking theatre, about Clan McDougall, at Dunollie Castle... which was very entertaining....the rain held off which was good, and the wind was slight, which keep the midge's with the boots on at bay
Camping... It is great fun... but I am soooo looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight
It sounds like you had a fabulous holiday! Sounds marvellously frugal too, just goes to show you can have a great holiday without blowing the budget. :T0 -
Thanks for the Avon tip
I'm off to to an inventory of the dented tins (are there any other kind?) in my kitchen cupboards, they're groaning under the weight and think I need to make some meal plans up to keep me away from the dented tins areas in the supermarkets. I think I have an addiction...lol0 -
Hmmmm.............. I did wonder this myself
:)
But is it Ceridwen ?
If its too late now, then what will you think in 10 years when they are the norm ??

You brave person with all those midges...which repellant did you use? They seem to avoid all the bits where i repelled and get the rest:o I use Autan, which works for most of the time but the odd hardy midge does appear.:mad:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

I noticed you used part of a tin of coconut milk. Just in case the rest is still lurking in the fridge, I hit the same problem earlier this week.
Solved it by accident by making a lemon and lime and a bit of syrup sponge ( added some tiny bits of chopped, previouslly frozen lemon and some lemon juice and lime juice, about half a fruits worth of each to a 2oz, 1 egg sponge mix), couple of spoons of syrup in the bottom of the pyrex and microwaved the sponge til springy.
Then made up the coconut milk to 1/2 a pint ( there's only two of us) and used it to make custard in the normal way.
OMG it was awesome.
Highly recommend using coconut milk like this with some kind of lime flavoured dessert. Am wondering if there's a trifle variation hmmmmm.Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0 -

.
so i did and i realised i actually meant 1/3rd a package of coconut CREME (i've amended that) the milk is so much more expensive so i buy the creme but thanks for that idea, i have a huge package of lime jelly crystals that i need to use up and it sounds delicious. the package gives instruction on how to turn it into coconut milk so i'll give it a shot, thank you!0 -
