I wont be told for definite if I have the job until thursday and they are trying to start me off at the bottom of the pay scale. they may have to "re-advertise" if we cannot come to agreement on pay Does that sound like a threat to you???

Sounds like shameless bullying tactics to me. They got no other responses first time around. Why would anyone else apply at this late stage? And what are you supposed to do about tonight?

And if they do re-advertise are you expected to play nice and carry on until they find someone else? !!!!!!!!!

Could someone take a look at the 'Serious debt problems - please help me' thread, I'm not sure whether there's a troll or if someone's just being a bit abrupt.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

  • afternoon.

Toto - enjoy your wedding anniversary - time goes by so fast!

Louise - sounds like a bit of a shot across the bows of them being a bit underhanded to me.

Well, I have to get my head down and start to get everything ready for my first teaching session. It's in a weeks time, but there are handouts to do, scheme of work and lesson planning for the next 10 weeks and I tossed and turned all night last night worrying about it all.

  • awwww Louise - that is really sh1tty of them!

blooody civil servant jobs of any description are notoriously hard to bargain with, maybe you need to go higher up the chain of command and discuss with someone in authority.... noone has the autonomy to make a decision for fear of carrying the can in these kinda places! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

so did they say "yes, the job is yours, but the money is pants" or "we're still thinking about it, will let you know and the money is pants" ????
