I'd rather have neither - I'm traumatised enough by the thought of a public outing without any unnecessary extras coming to the show!

    Even I won't be looking... :)

  • after working in a hospital for 8 years, I'd DEFINITELY not want a student doctor prodding at anything!!!!!!

And to make you all feel at ease (not) phlebotomists get very little training in sticking needles in when you go for blood tests and there are no formal qualifications needed to do the job......(other than 'good aim')

They're so handy for fetching of ice chips and water, keeping OH out of your hair and they're with you until the end - as opposed to a midwife who'll rush in and out announcing "x centimetres dilated, not long now", then rush in at the end, shouting at you to push...

    Then again, I am biased.

Saying that, my O&G boss has sorted me out with scans, surgery for ectopics and after the miscarriage in 2005, removed the retained placenta and I still have to look him in the face each day knowing where his eyes and hands have been! There certainly isn't any room for modesty!

I think we are lucky, we have a midwife centre 5 mins from our house, so we won't have ot go to the hospital.

The ration is 3 midwifes per 2 bumps.. :)

  • !!!!!!????? They have to ask first right????[/quote]

Don't worry they always asked me before they came in and you can say no, but after the amount of gas and air I had (i wish they sold that) they could have invited a whole news crew in and i would not have cared. It must have been a student architect that designed the hospital as it is right at the top of hill great when your 36+ weeks.
