Hi
Can anyone give me a little information on something,
My ABS and traction control light have both come on and stay on since one of my tyres blew out, having inspecting it only briefly I think the cable feeding the sensor is broken from the blow out, if I get this fixed will the light go out?
Also what am I looking at price wise for such work.
Any advice welcome

Also, I have heard if I need the ABS/traction control sensor replaced the whole wheel bearing will need to come off and be replaced too, want to avoid this if possible but been told that the wheel bearing may need changing.0

Sounds like the tyre debris has damaged the cable, depending on where the cable is damaged you might get away with repairing the cable rather than replacing the sensor.
Most cars will reset the fault lights themselves when the problem is cured, some cars remember the fault and will need the code cleared by a code reader.0 -

Sounds promising as was told something along those lines from the garage, just don't want to have to replace the bearing.
I think the cable is broken from what I can see, around midway up from the sensor.
I am going to take it along to a garage to do as I don't want to messa round trying to find where the cable plugs in to.
If I have it done at main dealer and the code needs resetting will they do this free?0 -

This could go on a while :laugh:0 -
Have you replaced the faulty tyre with one that is identical in size to the other three?0

Looking at the OP's posting times,he(or she) might be doing shift work and will hopefully post later.0

If the break is half way up the cable then you will be able to repair it fairly easily, either solder & heat shrink, butt crimp (again with heat shrink) or just twist the ends together and wrap with tape.
Getting that done by a professional wouldn’t take more than half an hour (and the twist and tape method was a joke)0 -
Took the car to a garage today, quoted £195 + VAT to repair, thats for the part, fitting and resetting the fault code.
Its on a Ford.
Been to main dealer, quoted £198.00 + VAT for part, fitting and resetting code.
Unsure what to do, may try get a second hand sensor as the sensor for the ABS/traction control is £140 a lone!
Lucky been told won't need the bearing replaced0
