If you can afford the postage I'd be inclined to just send it back, no note inside. Special delivery if you can afford it so she can't turn round and say she hasn't received it. It would be worth a few quid to have nothing to do with her.

Thanks, this is what I wanted to do but DF said I couldn't just ignore her email.

Opinion I woke up to find an email from toxic friend. She had asked me to mend a handbag she had which I did, then the last time she was here she didn't take it with. NOW she wants me to post it back to her! She says if I send her my address she'll send me a cheque for the cost! Am I that dreadful that she can't just ask to come and pick it up:confused:
I've a good mind to tell her if she wants it she should come and get it-if she doesn't want to talk to me I'll drop it out the window when she rings the bell?
Im not sure how to respond to her email?

No you are not a dreadful person - dont even begin to think like that or she wins!!! She is severing her ties with you and thats fine - you dont need her kind of friendship - its TOXIC!!!!! LOL!!! Like the others have said I would post it back - recorded delivery so she has to sign for it - just do it and get rid - it will be something less cluttering up your house! Dont worry about the email - if you feel you have to reply just be polite and to the point - "thank you for your email - I will forward your handbag shortly" or words to that effect - dont get into any discussion with her you will only feel more hurt afterwards!
You have to turn it around and see the positive side - its one less thing of clutter - and you didnt have to think about contacting her about it.

thats my humble opinion for what its worth !!!

    toots xx

p.s. pity I cant do the same with my toxic friend!!!!!!!!!LOL
    Peace will be mine

Thanks Polkadot - I think there are 3 possible reasons why it didn't rise as well as it should've.

    1) I didn't sift the dry ingredients
    2) I mixed the ingredients rather than folding them
    3) The baking powder is out of date - must put that on the shopping list now.

Hope things work out ok with your Toxic Friend. I would also be inclined to get her to come over and collect it - why should you go out of your way for her when she's treated you so badly? I suppose it depends on whether you can stomach facing her or not.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Polka - I agree with the rest, post it, no note and be done with her

Sexy when making makes I always use the magimix and I leave it on for ages once all the eggs are in. I always add a small spoon of flour with every eggs- I just put eggs in one at a time with a spoon of flour. I also never use SR flour - for 6oz plain flour I'd use 3 teaspoons of baking powder - mine always rise really well.

Right I'm doing really well but flagging a bit so need another HHC

Someone join me 13:15-13:45 I want all my 'cleaning' done by 14:00 so I can finish sorting my hotspot and sort out ebay stuff to post.

  • Well my morning just went pear shaped - but in a nice way - I was sorting out my ebay parcels when my nice friend (the birthday party i went to) phones to say she was nearby and would she come in for a coffee - OMG - I wasnt washed or dressed but the place was relatively tidy due to my HHC thank goodness - so we have had a lovely chat for about an hour and now I must get a wiggle on and catch up! Lunch, finish parcels, go to town (parcels and find birthday present for 96 year old lady!!!) get SC on as well!!
    And must do cupboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sexym thats a shame - but can I offer my services as a taster and walking waste disposal unit !!???? I am sure it will be lovely - i love cake!!!

    Email her back and say..

'I'd much rather you came to collect it.. then we can have a catch up and a gossip. I've been so busy lately and not seen you etc etc etc.. It would be good to have some time off from everything else. Besides.. it is probably cheaper for you to come collect it and have coffee and bickies than for me to post it!'

With big smiley face and some hugs.. if she says no just post it aftr that.. vomit in it and let the cat pee on it (do it yourself and blame the non-existant cat if you have to) and send it back.. AFTER you have the money for posting!!
