Posting first and reading later
Morning all
Two loads of washing on the line doing not very much really.
Monday is kitchen day for me but I needed to do some baking before I cleaned. I only had two eggs but I've made a fruit cake using them with some currants and a grated apple in. Looks and smells OK, we'll see how it tastes later. Also made some jam tarts.
Then I gave the kitchen a good clean.
Then damp wiped the living room and vacuumed right through downstairs.
Cake is on the cooling tray, jam tarts are put away (the cat will pinch those if I'm not careful) and the baking tins are in the drainer.
Coffee time.
Hope everyone's OK.0 -
Make Nigel Slater’s coffee and walnut cake - started to weigh out ingredients0

I decided on a HHI which i have now just put away. I'm going to put up the curtain and then get the stuff i need for going into town whilst Ds2 is in nursery. When i get home i'm going to attack the toy cupboard under the stairs and hopefully make a dent in his room. Catch you all later.0

Sexymouse Dont forget when you are doing Nigels recipes-his favorite "failsafe" tip is to sieve the dry ingredients three times. I do it now with anything I bake. I weigh it all together and then do the multiples-so by the time Ive done it three times, everything is incorporated and theres lots of air, that way when you fold it in you dont have to fight with clumps.
Oh dear, only just seen this and I've just put them in the oven. I didn't seive them at all as it didn't mention it in the recipe.Hope they turn out ok.

Oh things have gotten interesting around here. Decided instead of moving in November, now moving in two weeks time:eek: . So boxes galore here lol.
I'm in for the flying this week although might not be posting much.Sealed Pot Challenge 6 - 20580 -
So my morning has gone to pot-we only got up at 10! And I haven't even put the coffee pot on (because I'd have to clean quite a bit of the kitchen first).
But I do think I heard DF putting the wm on early this morning so will go check.
Thankfully our flat is not huge so I should get it picked up in a few HHC's.
And its raining here too so we wont be going to the park...at least we got out for a good while yesterday. DS is running around starkers and quite enjoying himself,he had a whole piece of pizza when he got up-helped himself. And it was homemade so I dont mind that he had it for breakfast-Im just chuffed he ate at all:j
Opinion I woke up to find an email from toxic friend. She had asked me to mend a handbag she had which I did, then the last time she was here she didn't take it with. NOW she wants me to post it back to her! She says if I send her my address she'll send me a cheque for the cost! Am I that dreadful that she can't just ask to come and pick it up
I've a good mind to tell her if she wants it she should come and get it-if she doesn't want to talk to me I'll drop it out the window when she rings the bell?
Im not sure how to respond to her email?0 -

Don't stress too much-should be good, his recipes are tough to flop. But next time try it and I promise you'll notice the difference.0 -
Morning all!
Today is a work day, so flying will be at a minimum, but will still need to do something, after manically cleaning at the w/e for guests, the house is vaguely presentable, with hotspots (hidden, LOL) .... my main aim of this week though is to tackle my filing mountain, I have bills to pay and filing to do, so I'm going to be doing HHF's when other's will be doing HHC's I think.
Monday Mayhem - Living Room, Hall and Stairs
Level 1
Vacuum through the living room, hall and stairs
Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Clean windows and all glass.. including the tv screen
Clear the mantel and only put back the items which are supposed to be there.. and that doesn't include letters, keys or other treasure!
Level Three
Wipe and water plants
Put all your hotspots in one pile and work your way through it..
Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself
Extra Mission: Pick one or more of the following tasks –- Have a bit of a tidy in the cupboard under the stairs.
- Wipe down any paintwork that needs it.
- Binbag dance.. Get a binbag.. fill it and bin it!!!
- Wash any cushions, throws or curtains that need it.. Do you need your winter curtains up yet?
So far today, I've um ... drunk coffee, eaten brekkie and ignored the rest of the house, DH has done one load of washing and hung it up, another load is currently washing ....
Anyone up for a HHC/HHI/HHF ... at 12:00 till 12:30 ?GC - March 2024 -0
