I'm not the one with flawed thinking. You're wasting your time! Another example, in 3 years time more or less all of Tescos staff will have turned over. You'll have to start again then! Thats the thing, you're assuming nothing changes, the same people will be doing the same jobs etc. If it worked like that then maybe you'd have a point, but it doesn't.

Another example. People have been complaining for things for years, it's nothing new. So why is everything the same? It's not got worse as people will claim, thats just ageing. People will say "well look at Watchdog" things like that never used to happen, well they did. Didn't Esther Rantzen present "Thats Life" about 20 years ago which was more or less the same thing?

You are very flawed in your thinking. I know for a fact that the line manager had worked there for 19 years and the customer services representative had been there for 12 years. Tesco staff now have badges telling you how long they have worked at tesco and the lengths of time are actually incredibly long.

If you believe that I am wasting my time and complaints go nowhere then fine, but why you feel the need to make us all believe the same I do not know, we know you do not believe it will make a difference, I and others do, so keep quiet. There is no need for you to keep uttering the same line.

Also other animals cope with eating raw food because they eat it usually when it is incredibly fresh or unlikely to contain dangerous bacteria. As our food is generally packaged in air tight containers then it allows incredibly dangerous anaerobic bacteria to thrive, this is where the danger lies. I do not consider that I 'nearly died' what I have a problem with is that if this is 19months past its best then what else do they have in store that could be dangerous?

Ssssss, please do not make assumptions as to who I am. I am not asking for money and nor do I want it, as has been the case in the past when I have been given financial compensation, it will go back to the company concerned or if, as has happened in the past, they do not want it back then it will be sent to a charity of my choice. I am not financially driven and never have been, I have volunteered all my life and currently work at a school, not for the money (because that really is appalling) but because I like the satisfaction that the job brings. It was also nothing to do with boredom as has been explained before.

Uktim, do you honestly believe that if you find a problem instead of trying (even sometimes when it is seemingly futile to do so) it is better to fall into apathy and ignore it? (The issue with the seatbelts has everything to do with your argument that it is better to ignore the problem than make others higher up the ladder aware that it is an issue you feel needs addressing.)

It's nothing to do with that. It'll all tick along and nothing will change. I know that for a fact. You wouldn't have found an out of date Beef Jerky otherwise. You still haven't posted a pic. I'm still very sceptical about it's actual date. You also haven't acknowledged the very high possibility the date is a miss print (which I bet it is if it isn't anything else).

Hold on, you went there on holiday & you seem to know exactly how long two of the staff worked there? Why would you have noted that seeing it had nothing to do with your complaint?

    Hmmm.

A little bit of digging shows Tescos only owned that store since 2005. Thats 3 years ago, you stated the staff had been there for 12 and 19 years. The property previously had been a Woolworths, none of the original staff had been employed due to competition and merging laws.

Are you sure you've got your facts right? (about all of this)

    Hmmmm.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves.
The original poster had a valid point, i wouldnt be supprised if that tesco gets shut down,19 months after use by date IS dangerous,if you went to a restaurant and was served food like that you would do more than simply complain.
This isnt a laughing matter and i wouldnt expect the original poster to find your childish comments at all amusing.

    Hmmm.

The rest of the OP's paragraph (after the bit you selectively quoted) explained that the staff were wearing badges stating how long they'd worked there.

The OP glanced at the badges and remembered what was written on them. Is that so hard to believe?

    Hmmmm.

As Tim is unable to put up any reasoned response to the various points people have put to him (see the last 20 or so posts :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ), his final roll of the dice is to now rudely insinuate that the OP has (for some unfathomable reason) concocted this whole story.

Again, I've seen Tim use this technique a dozen or so times now when more intelligent people than himself wade into the debate and make mincemeat of him.

The OP has only ever described the store as being "near Redruth". By my reckoning that could make it one of three Tesco stores, or six Tesco stores if you regard a ten mile radius as "near".

So tell me, Sherlock, how are you so confident that you know which store the OP is talking about?

Yeah I've just been shopping at Tesco Phil. You'll never guess what information their name badges don't have on them!

I doubted it earlier as I said, it had nothing to do with the complaint, more a convenient counter argument to try and suggest what I was saying was wrong.

Now it's very hard to believe seeing I've just been to one and have left not having a clue how long any of the staff have worked there!

I'm not bringing this up Phil without reason but for the sole purpose you've gone and mentioned it. I know for a fact I'm in the top 1% of the population as far as intelligence goes. Yes I know you'll do your falling over laughing thing. I just thought it might want to consider because you don't agree with someone it's not a real measure of being able to tell how intelligent they are. Doesn't take much brain to work that one out!

No they don't! I've just looked.

I stated around two to three years it'll be a completely different set of staff.

    http://www.personneltoday.com/articles/2005/07/05/30654/supermarket-sweep-tesco.html

    "Retention
Three years ago, staff turnover was said to be 29.9%. Now, no specific figure was available but, says Glickman, turnover is below the industry average of around 35%."

That is pretty much what I said. That means the average length of staff stay at Tescos is about three years.

That was a guess at the time off the top of my head. I was completely right!
