Parking ticket in Asda car park - Is this legal, can they take me to court?

"This may or may not be the case"
Are you suggesting that the paperwork issued by PPCs may be a "fine"?
If you do a little research you will realise they are not.
PPCs do not have the authority to issue fines.
All info is the opinion of posters – it’s not our view. We have an amazing forum with a huge wealth of helpful info. Yet remember it's open to all, and sometimes messages are posted that are misleading or downright wrong, most users are helpful but there are always a few bad apples. Don't rely on information being accurate or complete. If you do, it's at your own risk. Please do your own research before acting.
Whether they are "fines", "invoices", or just advertising gimmicks, when it comes to what they "legally" are, I would be more inclined to look into it from sources OTHER than an open public forum, to err a little caution on the safe side by checking it out with someone I can recognize as being in the legal field, rather than Joe Bloggs, because it is far better to be safe than sorry, especially in the legal field.
I find it astonishing that people have a problem with that, I may as well advise people on forums to invest all their money into "Marleyboy" shares and expect everyone to throw their life savings into it.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"

Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -
When a qualified solicitor, who is also an expert on parking law, goes onto Watchdog and explains that these "fines" are not worth the paper they are written on, then that to me, is pretty conclusive proof:-
WatchdogWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Having looked at some of your other posts, I hereby fine you for being a prat. As the owner of these posts, you are required by law to supply me with your address, or that of those who made those prattish statements if it were not you.
Failure to pay will result in interest of £3 a day being added to your account. You will also have a CCJ, and very large balliffs will come and seize your plasma TV in part payment.
pay now AS THIS FINE WILL NOT GO AWAY.:D0 -

You can indeed. It is doubtful whether you would be paid the fine, but you can fine people.0 -
I agree - pay the fine and don't park in a disabled bay again. A close relative of mine is disabled and depends on the disabled spaces at the supermarket (if they're full, she has to come home again, as the other spaces are not wide enough for her to open fully the car door and get out). I have a severe go at anyone I see parking in a disabled space, as it is very inconsiderate behaviour - whether you're there for a minute or half an hour. Just be thankful you're able bodied and spare a thought for those that aren't so fortunate.0

Why? How do you know who is and is not disabled?0
