Over £35000 in Cash ISA

Thanks. I have no fears over TSB, and I suppose whichever establishments have the best rates come next April will also be safe to go to.
I must stop watching the news for doom and gloom everyday!!0 -
You may also want to consider the fact that Bank of Ireland have just improved their 'protection' to around £80000 so if one in that group has a product of interest they offer better security.
I should be specific and say the 'extra' protection they offer is due to the better protection offered by the ROI, from which we would benefit.:T0 -
I am in a similar situation, having considerably more than £35000 in the Nationwide 1 year fixed rate ISA bond. We're constantly being warned against having more than this figure, and like yourself, it looks like I will have to look to transferring to two new ISA providers next year.
I had only recently consolidated my Tessa together with the cash ISA as well!
Good luck0 -
If ever there was a lesson to learn from recent events it's DON'T consolidate! I have felt so remiss not to have done what you've done libra10 but oh god how pleased am I now that its spread around! Little as I have I can't afford to lose it, that's for sure!! By the way, why are you waiting til next year to move things? Is there a rule about transferring more than once in a year? Would really like to know this if anyone out there has the facts. Thanks and good luck to all of us. At least MSE'rs try to be wise! What hope for the poor *!:rotfl: *%*! that haven't yet discovered this web site!0

No, there is no such rule - you can transfer at any time see http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ISA/isa-guidance-notes-2008.pdfflossy_splodge wrote: »Is there a rule about transferring more than once in a year?0 -
Don't worry too much; as it will be going up to £50,000 on Tuesday (Hopefully) so only a couple of sleepless nights."Didn't I try to Warn them I said !"
