RELYSIS 17" WIDESCREEN LCD TV/MONITOR £245

  • I too purchased the product last night for £244.

Having received an email this morning saying 'we've cancelled your order', I telephoned them. BT stated having realised shortly after 12pm that the item was incorrectly price a stop was put on the offer. The correct price should have been £399 instead of £349 minus 30%. They are very sorry, end of story.

It is now back in stock selling at £399 minus discount.

D0 we have any redress on this? :-[

Looks like they artificially inflated the price in light of the discount offered. :-(

Not sure if there is ny legal recourse.

But as I'm sure all of you are aware, a retailer is under no obligation to accept your offer of however many pounds (Invitation to treat rule - yawn!)

I suggest holding out till the Jan sales when I anticipate some bargains on the LCD TV front!
  • I intend o ga screen shot but the did't DOH!

    I've email the ASA
  • sorry key board playing up!

We ordered one just after midnight and got the confirmation email, then this morning got the cancellation one. Also waiting for manager to ring back.

Spoke to trading standards and they said it depends on their terms and conditions and whether in the small print it says they can cancel an offer.

Have printed out terms and conditions and cant see anything.

Not sure if they can get away with it. They put in the £349 price and did the calculations. Trading standards said that the email confirming order might not count as it is just an auto response email.

We'll all have to get together and kick up a fuss in the press.

  • HI amancalledchip,
I've just been back on to the BT site the price is £399 so if you have a screen shot I'd grateful, please p.m.

    thanks
  • Just rang again quoting their terms and conditions and they've back down.     Here is the clincher;
This will not affect any order which has already been accepted by us

Got it for the original price of £244.99. Ring the number at the bottom of the email they sent to you.

Might also be worth pointing out that, you have tried to re-order one at the new price but can not, as you are only allow to purchase one offer item per day.

Snowboarder747 - how did you swing that? BT's T&Cs clearly state:

3.13 BT will send you an e-mail order acknowledgement. This order acknowledgement does not constitute an acceptance of your order. Your order will be accepted by BT emailing you to confirm delivery arrangements. BT will do this when it has cleared the credit checking process to its satisfaction.

Not that it will make any difference, as it's now out of stock again >:( >:(

I'll admit it's a bit cr*p of BT to up the price on the day of the discount code, but it's still 70 quid cheaper today than it was yesterday, and cheaper than most other places where you'd buy it from - add in a greasypalm or rpoints discount and you've saved more money again... ::)
