RELYSIS 17" WIDESCREEN LCD TV/MONITOR £245

Bought one from richer sounds the other day, at least £50 cheaper than online websites inc p+p. Dell charge £450 for similar and an Iyama which is identical (slower 25ms response) is also about £400.

Comes with manufacturers 3yr swapout warranty, remote control and most cables.

Its reviewed in this months personal computer mag. Not the best around but very good value at this price and one of the newer 16ms response screens. Great picture and nice modern looks. As it says also hooks up to a computer for space saving etc - Works really well on pc and dvd and freeview, not so good on standard analogue tv (for me anyway).

Remember to buy scart to s-video/rca phono cable as there's no scart on the tv.

Got mine for about £247 from BT earlier in the month but sent it back cos the picture quality was very poor. Pale and wishy washy - no contrast or definition.

    Yes, it's that BT.
    .
  • Now £349.99 at BT so R.S. still a better option at the moment. Still can't help feeling I got ripped off after seeing BT info but just have to remember there are still places selling it at over £400

I too purchased one from RS last week.

BTW, its exactly the same as the Hitachi one in the current Argos catalogue listed for £499  :o

What I would say about LCD TVs is that if you still use a standard CRT TV in your house then you'll always notice the smear (in fast motion scenes particulary) which is feature of LCD technology and unavoidable. But, benefits of LCD are crystal clear pictures, no interlace (flicker free), physical space and lower power consumption.

The other issue to consider is that LCD panels cannot display complete black so if you're watching a dark movie in a dark room then you'll notice what I mean.

For technical reasons, the best demo you could ask for in a retailers shop is to see a football match with the signal coming from an analogue source (VCR, terrestrial signal) and NOT from a DVD disc. This has to do with how the in-built tuner copes with the interlace signal. There is tons of info on the net on this subject so worth a bit of research.

Sorry, this ain't meant to be a lesson :)

To make you feel a little better you can only use one voucher so its £245 delivered and I paid £247 so its cheaper by £3  :o  Its worth it though isn't it - a great Tv for that price but there isseriously limeted stocks ;)

£247-£245=£3 ??? I must get one of those calculators too ::)

BTW, got one of these in the basket at BT waiting for midnight - anyone know if the advent codes work as soon as the next day starts?
How do I add a signature?
