Jeyes is very good to disinfect things, so the greenhouse can be cleaned with it, but do it well in advance of needing it, because plants don't like the fumes. After a couple of weeks your greenhouse should cease to smell like a public loo and at least you'll know there are no bugs in there.

Do follow dilution rate guidelines, powerful stuff.
  • And it cleans out stinky wheely bins too!
  • Yes it will harm the grass and it won't deter the cats.

You could put teabags soaked in Reynardine (available at your friendly local garden centre of B&Q) inside jamjars - lay them on their sides to stop the rain getting in. Cats hate the smell (but to be honest, so do I)

  • It's one of those things that alot of people try. I did and it failed. I got a ultrasonic deterrent thing and that has reduced the amount by 90% for sure.

Yes, I think we are going to have to try ours again.

I bought a CatWatch ultrasonic deterrent as it's the only one recommended by the RSPB.

It is infact the only deterrent tested by the RSPB and the research was payed for by Concept Research....the manufacturers of CatWatch.

I personally haven't heard great reports about thsi particular product in terms of value for money....I think there are cheaper more effective alternatives

Don't put a few drops of anti-freeze in water for cats, just because it tastes/smells fishy becuase if they drink from it, they won't come back.
